Just picked it up. I had it re-plated as it was a bit rusty and and caps were rusty as well. Now I have an excuse to get the game finished. The cab is done. All that is left is the controller restoration so this will certainly get me in gear.

Enjoy the view!

Wow they did a nice job! Your game is going to look like new!
What kind of price did they charge to do something like that?
Thanks for sharing.

How much did that cost to have plated like that?

Stripped and plated for $125 and it took about 3 weeks. With all the other resto that is going into this game I figured it was justified. Didn't want a nice cab with new art, CPO, etc to have rusty handle bars.

Here is a cabinet teaser...

Is that the cab you bought from me completely disassembled? That looks fantastic. Can I have it back now? :) I have more time to work on/finish the restoration.

Yep, this is the one. Disassembled and in boxes and boxes of pieces. It has been a long road but it is finally coming together. I have had the cab done for a while, but the boards and controller have taken far too long.

Oh yeah, I still need to cap the monitor yet but at least it works and has a decent picture.

So now you want it back after all the work is done. :D Guess I need to get some enjoyment out of it first. ;)

Epic. I might need to take the extra control yoke I bought and try some mirror chrome powder coat on it sometime.

Does this guy you used take orders via mail/email?

The mirror powder coat would probably look great and a near bulletproof finish, but the original stuff was actually nickel plated, not even chrome plated. I'm not sure, but I suspect that bumper grade chrome would actually be more durable than a nickel plating, and who would be able to tell the difference?

Haha, well it was a bit of an undertaking as my first full restoration. Plus between work, family, etc I just never had time. No rush at all, enjoy it. But do keep me in mind if you ever sell it. ;)

Some more porn for ya jow...

And now, the final product. Next up is capping the monitor and getting it all put back together.

Amazing stuff. I'd love to come play that thing with those shiny new handlebars and brand new artwork.
