As I build up a collection of game boards, I am running into a shortage of basic storage supplies. Of all of them the most needed are large anti-static bags (the grayish translucent metalic kind) that are so useful for storing PCBs. I've scavenged them from old PC motherboards, computer store throwaways and such, but now I'm out. Some of the ones in use I've had to make into bags using shipping tape.

Anyone have a cheap source?

I like to treat these old game boards with a lot of respect, so this may all be going overboard...

Go to www.uline.com and search for "anti-static" for the pink bubble wrap and "static shielding" for the silver bags. I think it's overboard but use whatever system works for you.

For general board storage I prefer USPS cardboard boxes stacked on-end. They're the perfect size for most boards, the cardboard won't cause static discharge problems, and it's right in the box ready to sell/ship.

uline is an awesome company to deal with and they truly set the bar for customer service. We switched to them a few years ago for all our packing supplies, and should have done so much sooner. But cheap they are not.

How many do you need and what size?

You can try contacting xbuyer208 on ebay. I got 5 boxes of 24"x24" antistatic bags from him for $50 + shipping back in Dec. 08. I believe there are 100 bags per box.

This was back in 08' but he said that he had lots of them and needed to get rid of them.
