I'm slowly getting this thing going except for one problem left. None of the drop target banks on either playfield will reset at start of or throughout a game. I'm running a ni wumpf cpu and rottendog driver. All target switches register and I can ground the transistor on the board that drives them and it will fire as it should. None of them will fire in test mode though, only manually grounding the transistor. All driver and cpu connectors are repinned as well as a new cpu/driver harness. Any ideas?

You know, that's interesting. I just got my Ni-Wumpf CPU back from them today, plugged it in, and I'm not getting any drop target bank resets either. Everything else seems to be fine. I don't have time to investigate further at the moment, so I don't know what the deal is.

I didn't have this issue before, and the only thing that has changed is since is the CPU was repaired by the company.

Edit: All of my settings were reset on the CPU, and it seems like the software version may have been updated (assuming the CPU has that feature) as the game start up sounds, etc. are a little different. Is your Ni-Wumpf brand new? Perhaps this is related?

According to "Ace" at ni wumpf, there can be a communication issue between a rottendog driver and their cpu. He claims the rottendog driver component and circuit design is to blame. All I can say is I installed an original driver board out of my robo war and the solenoids all work fine. Tomorrow I am going to try the rottendog in my robo war to see if it works fine there. I've never had an issue with rottendog boards before, however, this is the first time I have used a ni wumpf with one.

Well that's odd. I guess I'll have to figure out why my target banks aren't resetting now. I'm not sure what the deal would be since they worked fine before.

I would try grounding the transistors just to verify the circuits are working properly. I did mention your issue as well through our conversation and he said that he was willing to help in any way he could.

I'll try grounding them. One of them is a 2N3055, do you just touch the ground to the case?

Did you get the whole issue you had resolved? I just got back from vacation and started looking into my game.

I tried grounding the transistors directly for the upper pf drop targets, and they didn't fire that way either. I had a MPS-U45 and SN3005 laying around, so I replaced both for the "BLACK" targets, and it still doesn't fire. Any idea what might be wrong with either set of targets on the driver board?

That's odd, because grounding mine made them fire.
