You ever had a day where everything you touched turned out bad

2 4901 deflection board that where powering up but now do nothing

1 Go7 deflection board that stays a solid white screen

1 go7 that looks good on the bench but has a degaussing issue in the cabinet

& I can not even stick a tempest overlay, right

I think I may have to make some offering's to the arcade god again ;)

It happens to everyone in the hobby...sometimes you don't need to touch anything...you just wake up on a Saturday...go to turn on some games and they don't work...usually those are the days I don't try to fix anything or put on overlays cause I know its a bad omen to begin with....:D

If I only had someone to stop me. I would not have to wake up tomorrow and fix all the problem I caused today

Patience, grasshopper.

EDIT: Wait....did you just bump a standard discussion topic that wasnt even an hour old? And when most normal people are asleep?

LOL.

Yeah I was asleep at that time :)

I have definitely had times like that where everything breaks or doesn't work. Just step away....

I should have read this yesterday! Hah! Don't ask! It sucked (sucks)

Tell me about it.

I bought TWO mortal kombat board sets from EBAY -- the first one had a dead audio boad, the second one? the audio worked perfectly.. until I started a game and I saw that only SOME of the audio effets are corrupted (all the punching and kicking *swooshes* effets).

I restored the cab completely, it looks stunning now, before it had been converted in an horrible namco themed monster, but I saved everything back to the original midway art, even rebuild a new cpo with repro art. The cab now looks like it timewarped from 1992. It looks stunning now, but the audio is CORRUPTED until I order a THIRD set of mk boards from the internet.

Since I'm in Canada, and MK1 boards still fetch a decent amount of money, I must have paid around 200$ worth of randomly malfunctionning boards so far, and its going to be such a bitch to go to work on paypal with the resellers. Lots of boardsets on ebay are already broken by default! ARGHHGHH! And boards usually take a week or two to get here! That means it wont get fixed for at least two weeks if I find another board today! :(

The game is back in the gameroom, but with the sound muted, and everytime I look at it, I get angry.

Baaaah!

LOL Yea I did, Let me guess your not suppose to do that?

When I used to work at a refurbishing place I went through a pallet of monitors and found none of them were working right. Guy was pissed because the auctioneer listed them as all (or mostly) working.

Then I had an idea and tested the outlet we were using - 85 volts :) (Our warehouse sucked) Used a variac to bump it up to 105 and retested - all monitors worked.

Moral - if you have several things all oddly failing - check how your testing.
