I was checking out the control panel on my recently acquired PC10 because I was having a couple of problems. The 2p joystick would not go to the left and the "B" button on the 1P was not firing all the time(the stick just had a loose wire...no big deal). I found this strange white switch under it that I think might be bad or it's that much different than the cool black ones that it's not :

Anyone know where I can find a switch that sorta matches the black one? Thanks

That looks to be a fairly standard Cherry brand micro-switch. It could be failing or, more likely, it needs to be adjusted to actuate fully when the button is depressed. Another possibility is it was adjusted too tight and has been damaged from years of use.

you talking about the white microswitch?

Other than looks, there shouldnt be much difference between it and its black counterpart as far as functionality.

If thats a cherry microswitch it can be carefully pried apart once unscrewed from the cp, and then you can file all the contacts, and reassemble.

What scares me is maybe the former owners had this issue and replaced the switch only to find out that isnt the issue...

Hopefully im wrong, and it just has dirty contacts.

I don't know but now that you mention it the switch works best when you mash the button.

When working on my X-men I replaced lots of bad micro switches so I thought it was the same $2-$5 deal

I've seen dozens of different types of micro switches, leafed or not. Some have wide prongs and others have narrower prongs. All and all it doesn't matter I would say in terms they should all function the same. However, there are a number of cheap ones that wear out faster, fairly priced ones that are rugged, and then the expensive types mostly pro players go for their smooth movements and reliability.

I vote Zippys are typically the best brand in comparison of value and reliability, but I'm not sure they come in leafed styles.
