Saw a Hard Drivin' being listed over and over on CL. Price kept coming down. Guy stated that when turned on you could hear sounds but no picture. He said "the bulb is burned out" I offered him 100.00 and took a chance.

Drove 120 miles round trip. Not too bad. No sideart but clean inside. I turned it on and the screen came up. I turned it back off right when he started saying "Thats wierd, it didn't work before". Upon loading in to the "miniman" heard many quarters fall. I smiled and said "oh no the game just fell apart inside."

This is one heavy bitch!

Got it home and it works/play just fine. Needs a little clean up and some paint. I am so f-ing happy right now! The quarters are in the very bottom of the machine. I'll figure that out later.

I would post pics, but really, is it needed?

Was that the one in Everett? I'm pretty sure that guy got it from an Ebay auction in Oak Harbor. I contacted the guy in Oak Harbor and he said he'd sell it to me for $65.00 but I never had time to get up there. Then I noticed someone in Everett with a Hard Drivin with the same monitor problem and thought hmmmm. Nice score especially if it's working now. - Barry

Thats the one. It works great. No issues at all. The guy I bought it from said he had it for a few years though.

I hate replacing those bulbs just about as bad as I hate buying machines full of quarters.

Nice find. Is it an upright, or cockpit?

Upright, and yeah, I know better about the pics. Just figured it's been done a million times.

I was really waiting for "Pics or it didn't happen"

I think both Hard Drivin machines came from the same place. Notice how they both are missing the top of the sticker on the back of the seat.

That's funny, that means there has been 3 for sale recently as there is another on CL right now. Were you able to get that one working? - Barry

Mostly fixed. It didn't do anything when I picked it up. The power supply was bad, I had to fabricate a new video cable and the video board needed a cap kit. So far everything is fixed except for the cap kit. I sent the video board out to a guy that is an expert in fixing these.

Somehow I missed that. - Barry

That link I posted was kind of messed up. It's fixed.

As the OP stated, these units are heavy! The machine is unusually tall and the monitor is on the top, facing downward. That really doesn't help with the weight. I wound up breaking the side door to the garage trying to get it inside.

Also ona side note, Jaymax I'm getting a very nice Hard Drivin' marquee in a few days. I could take a high resolution photo and send it to you. There are a few after market marquee companies that should be able to make you a nice reproduction.

Well, I guess I'm full of shizzle. Went to turn it on a minute ago and guess what? The "bulb" is not working. DAMN IT!

It worked just fine an hour ago. No pic and I can faintly hear a "twitching" near the monitor.

If I go through the normal startup (just turning the key until it gets to the game) you can hear the car start and the engine running. The engine sounds a little wierd, kinda like a slight stuttering.

I turned it off and on a couple of times and same result. Something must be loose....I hope.

It's awful funny how this thing was bang, bashed and drivin around and it worked. Now after an hour of just sitting, it no worky.

My marquee is good. Just no sideart. I think I'll paint it red like the other guy did.

Your right about the weight, it's ridiculously heavy.

I'd like to see pictures when you are done with it. Sounds cool if you paint it red.

If you need any help, PM me. I've learned a lot with my machine.
