So awhile back I bought a rastan board that arrived with no sound.

This was the 3rd board I purchased as working that didn't work. (not from him)
I was pretty pissed at this point. lol

Anyway, I had it out with him, not really because the board didn't work. But for some other reason. I was basically not treating him very respectfully.

I did test the board in 2 machines originally. -5 volts was present.
As a matter of fact I had just build the machine that had the -5 with all new guts, so I was pretty confident of my findings at the time.

Fast forward 3 months. I buy another board, rastan. Put it in my machine and again no sound. So I go through and find a short in the -5 and fix it.

Boom, both boards work.

So, this is to let pacray know that his board did actually work. And I have already apologized for not being nice before, but I wanted to just point out that even though it didn't look like it at the time, some troubleshooting was required. sometimes you don't know what you think you do.
I sometimes battle with issues of being prideful, so I thought it would be good for me not to just let it go, but to mention I had made more than 1 mistake, and let that be known.

ok, thanks again pacray

I suppose this thread, doesn't require responses from anybody necessarily.

But I just wanted my experience out there in case it benefits someone in any way.

Looks good on you, I learned from my Father not to judge a man by the mistakes he makes but how he tries to correct those mistakes. After all we all do make mistakes, nice job on the apology!

That's pretty cool of you to post this and be so honest. Most people are too cowardly to point out a self-made mistake. Ray is good guy & I'm sure he'll appreciate it. Here's hoping the hatchet is buried :)

Leave him some positive trader feedback on the new system! ;)

It takes a man to straight up admit that he was wrong in public. Props to you for making it right.

My thoughts exactly sir. It's not every day you run into a dude that will admit a mistake and take on the humbling task of offering a public apology. I think more people should be that way, myself included.

yes it was in an anti-static bag.
Anyone that tells you a pcb shouldn't have one, or there is no benefit to it, simply
knows nothing about handling printed circuit boards.

I always use an Anti-Static bag to put my peanut butter and jelly sandwich in for lunch . It helps to retain that nutty taste .

OMG the Rastan PCB you puchased for $25.00 shipped worked? Was it even packed in a ANTI-STATIC BAG???

Tron guy got that board from me, yes working and wrapped tight as a virgin. Jeez I didn't know Rastan would cause such a ruckus around here; its a cool game but not my cup of tea. I just wanted to offer it for sale here on the forums at a good price to someone who would enjoy it more than me. Funny thing was I posted it a few weeks ago in the For Sale section and there wasn't one response! LOL Sorry to get off topic, tron guy that's cool you apologized, not many people would do that...

Thanks again, I passed it along to the other guy that wanted it once I fixed the problem with my cab and realized my board was good.

It's kind of like the world being flat. Everyone thinks it's flat because they dont' know any better.

Dude, your lucky he finally found the problem with his cabinet, that would have been like 4 Rastan PCBS with no sound. This way we don't have to see a 'an apology to gorfchampion' thread a month down the road.
