I'm looking at a complete 2 seat Sega Super GT tomorrow, fully functional and pretty cheap IMO. I understand they are not fun to move and I can work with that. What I don't have is space for both in my arcade.

I'd like to use just one of the cockpits, hang the marquee from the ceiling with my other lit pieces and then use the second machine for parts/spares. Is this just as easy as splitting them and powering up? Will I only have to deal with a link error at startup?

Thanks!

Yes, you can just unplug one. You can probably set them in the menu to be a standalone too and not get the link error. I actually have a set here in the shop but I haven't got them running yet. They have the same basic setup as the Daytona stuff though and I've ran Daytona without the second seat on the twin set up.

Appreciate it thanks!

Yeah, maybe see if somehow you can work in a plan where you keep them both.
A two player driver is 10 times the fun as a single.
One could even argue that there is no point in owning a singe at all.

I would love to have both setup if the space allowed it. Are you think there replay-ability of this game as a single player would be meh? Ultimately a San Fransisco Rush or a Crazy Taxi would be preferred but prices are up there quite a bit.

Great game and a shame if you don't link them. With that said, I still love playing by myself. You can always get Dirt Devils and stick it on the spare one. Not sure if Daytona is a drop in.

I'm not so sure anything with a steering wheel is all that great by yourself.
I'm a fan of sega GT, had i've never seen a set for sale in my area, ever, had i in the past, i would have purchased them.
For a while i was on a kick of finding a pair of sega GT's or ferrari 355's, maybe a few other pairs, but none turned up.
It's just for me, racing games have always been about playing against other people.

Just seems kinda depressing to see a set separated.
