Well I lurk no more, I finally was able to get to the point that I can dip my foot in the pinball waters. I almost was able to get a Whitewater, but the cards didn't flip right for me so I was thinking a CFTBL would be a good first pin. Are there any good sellers or traders in the DFW area?

Do you think its possible to snag a CFTBL in the range of 2500-2800? Aside from the snack bar hole and the hologram, what are some other things to look for (ie wear areas, wiring issues etc). If the boards where the batteries are installed have acid leakage on them I am assuming run away from that machine correct?

I have never owned a pin before, what is the deal with Mylar, is it good to have Mylar on your pins? I have seen videos on how to remove Mylar but never re installation. I am assuming operators put Mylar on the playfield to prevent wear, but are you supposed to replace Mylar or just use car wax to protect it?

Also what items should I bring along to ensure I get the pin home? What size socket or wrench or whatever do I need to get the legs off and the backboard down?

Thanks! Sorry for the newbie questions, but I guess we all have to start somewhere.

5/8" for the legs. Backbox will have a flip hinge in the back and possibly two wing bolts in the cab to secure, so no tools needed there.

Keep an open mind about games and themes. You might be able to get a Creature in your price range, but it could take some time. Lots of other good games out there.
