OMGWTFBBQ! - The best racing game of 1982

Turbo > Pole Position

Pole position was amazing when it was released, though, a huge breakthrough.

I've had a Pole Position before, but sold it. I think the later generation of driving games are better, and are a whole lot more fun to own in a home arcade. Twin or linked units are the way to go if you have the space. Daytona, Indy 500, Rush 2049....

Driving (and shooting games) are the only new arcade video games being made these days, with rare exception.

I kind of agree with you about Turbo being better than POle Position. There is just so much more variety in levels and scenery.

Can someone once and for all say how much money they get for being a "partner"? I had heard $.01/view. Is that right?

I don't think there is a set amount. It depends on a lot of factors, clicks, views, etc.

For me, it really hasn't been a big deal. I am more interested in making my channel look good.

PP kicks ass, I like the game a lot in terms of early racers, everything about it from the graphics to the sound effects!

jon keep making videos, there awesome!

I'd have to go with Pole Position over Turbo any day. Turbo isn't a bad game, but Pole Position just seems better overall IMHO. If only it wasn't so un-reliable hardware wise. :(

I'd have to give Out Run the nob over both Turbo and PP though. It's my fav racing game. :)

I agree that PP is better than Turbo graphics and audio wise, but PP is so damn difficult to get very far. I can qualify and maybe finish the first race and loose in the second. Spy Hunter is another game that only lets you play for so long then cuts you off. I liked the Apple ][ version of Spy Hunter over the arcade because I could actually play it.

Outrun is good, but I would go with Super Hang-On over it.

I'd love an Outrun. That's probably the only other racing game I would consider to own. Turbo and PP to me are the best of the 80s, then Outrun.

John, were you asked by youtube to be a partner or did you apply? They sent me an invite to have one of my videos used as a profit-share thing (i don't know why). Is this how they contacted you?

They asked me the same way. So, yeah!

Sweet. I was too lazy to accept. Maybe I'll have to go back and track down the email if I still have it. I think the catch is I'd have to have those BS advertisements on the page though. I'm not a big fan of those in general, but hey if it pays. :D
