OMGWTFBBQ!! SF CE Turbo??!?

John's arcade getting a SF2HF is Epic!
You need to put this right next to your 4 Slot. It'll look great w/ the two reds together!

I'm finishing up a CE dressed HF 25" cab for sale this last few weeks. I'll have some pics for a restore thread. It's an HS5.

Sneak Peek

Koam did do some of the Deds during this time. Capcom started switching production of cabs to 3KOAM since they were just 15 miles away from US HQ.
This is why the CP is similar to the corner cut. I'm not sure if Capcom was involved with corner cut design but they certainly brought it with them from Dynamo to 3KOAM.

You'll start even seeing some ded big blues show up Pre-HF. They were selling so many cabs that they were ordering cabs from whoever so they are all possible dedicateds as far as I'm concerned.

Something is funny w/ you CPO and it makes me think that it's not an original CE overlay. I can't tell which one is on top but it makes sense that the CPO tore on the top edge and they pasted that smaller piece on top as a patch.

If you play SF2 mostly as a single player and not vs then DO NOT get Super Turbo, (unless you can find the Jpn version) Super Turbo is so hard because they cranked up the AI to do instant combos and stuff that no human can do. It's just painful to play. I don't like to leave mine in a cab unless I know loads of people are coming over. I can't play it in single player at all. It's not even fun even on the lowest setting.

Known as a "Z-back" but this is what they call a K-3

Note: its either CE or HF/Turbo. Even though CE is in the title. People typically don't mix it cause it's way too confusing.

Such an awesome pick-up John. This is the best SF2 version in the best cab. I've got the exact configuration on my want-someday list too. Congrats.

Looks nice! I spent a lot of time and money on Street Fighter back in the day since the 90's was my primary era. I still want to add a Champion Edition to the lineup someday. :)

That's a good game. I've owned several of the SF series, MK and a bunch of others like Tekken and SNK. I don't have any now, though.

It's a matter of opinion, but if I was only going to have one, I'd have Marvel Vs. Capcom II in the arcade.

Just awesome

Dude nice vid, and nice game room set up. I'm in the process of restoring my brothers Dynamo HS-5 cab that I had gotten off ebay 3 years ago. It is just a mess, and the control panel looks like someone poured cement on it. I'm serious!

I'm working on getting all of the artwork, new buttons and etc myself to get this gem brought back to life. If there was a dedicated Dynamo cab for SFII, I think he may have one.
Now I will get one myself once I get the room in my apartment. LOL

Congrats John! It definitely adds even more variety to your game room and I hope you enjoy it.

I know there are a lot of SFII haters in here but it's a must-have for my generation that grew up playing games in the late 80s/early 90s. Mine isn't going anywhere. :)

Love this game. Love this video. Great to see you expanding the ever-growing notches in the belt. Now you gotta go back and read the SF2 pages of the book. Now you'll get the "Yoga" joke. ;)

My ears were ringing...I knew this topic was being discussed...I had to check... ;)

Another Z-Back HF finds a home. :)

Dude, when we going to play a few games... we always seem to agree/concur

Ok, now you got me thinking I should just stick with HF Turbo and forget Super Turbo. Thanks, for the advice!

On my original overlay, it was peeling at the top so the operator took a piece from another overlay and laid it over the damaged area.

Street Fighter II CE is a good game....some people label it as a "button masher", but it is far from it. I played this game ALOT back in the day, and it still stands the test of time. I have the exact same cabinet in my basement arcade, and I believe it is the Z back is thebest cabinet for it. The drawer makes it super easy to swap out boards.....but working on the power supply, or monitor is a pain.

The version you have is the best overall IMO. But just as Praired advised, Super Street Fighter 2 is the way to go if you know folks are coming over for fights. It was the last version with the 'standard' look. Having four more characters adds to the variety, and the addition of a few extra special moves means many more shitty characters have been balanced to compete against the main players.

... and when you have felt like you love it enough to start collecting all of the other boards it will become an obscession. I have basically all of the "final" versions and it gets expensive.

Super Turbo remains a fave for me along w/ 3rd Strike...

If you consider another version then consider Third Strike. To this day it is considered the most technical one ever. With your resources you may be able to find one for cheap. Anything under $300 for the boardset is fair. I was super lucky as I got mine for $150 in a cab. I sold the cab and basically got the kit for 3S for free.

Alpha 3 and MvS are others to consider. MvC is one to consider since its easy to pickup and play (masher)

Hey Johnny HC, SF CE Turbo is pretty sweet. I remember busting out SFII Turbo on the old Super NES. I recently fixed one of these SF machines for a movie theatre in fact. Nice to see the 90's games getting taken care of now.

IMVHO. I would go with HF or CE.

When I 14 and SSFII came out, I was kind of disappointed. I liked the new characters and all. But it just wasn't the same to me, the music, voices and sound effect sucked. That was one of my favorite things about the game were the music, voices, & sound effects. Why they got rid of the old announcer is beyond me.I mean for f** sake the new one sounded like Big Bird!
And the remixed music wasn't good. And YES! It was hard, and cheesy to me.

I remember when I was going to a local theater by my house to play SFII:CE. Loved that game, I would skip school spend all my money there and would totally ignore MK2 that was always set on the hardest mode. Then me and my friends went to this Fudruckers! Anyone remember that place? That was the first time I seen capcom's big blue machine & Hyper Fighting Edition brand new in all it's glory! Back then it seemed so fast!

SFII WW, SFII CE, (hacked vers.) of SFII CE's, & SFII HF my #1 all time favorite arcade games.

If I and many other didn't get burnt on those 6 in 1 switcher boards. I would recommend getting that and filling them up with SFII titles in your cab. Funny because that was my next plan. When I was to get my Dynamo cab..... But my plan to turn my candy cab into a 5 in 1 Tekken cab failed due to that thing. :( Not unless I can find a dependable switcher board.
