OMGWTFBBQ!! - Q*Bert. That's right, Q*Bert!

Only this thread gives you useful tips on how to play the game!!!

A PLAYERY'S GUIDE

THanks for sharing that brother, bill. This thread keeps on giving!

I tell you, I do OK in Q*Bert up until wave 3 or 4. I forget which one. But, when you can't step on the same tile more than once, man that screws me up! It's like a mind freak at that point.

Haven't played Q*bert much over the last few months (busy busy busy) so this thread kind of "inspired" me to play some Q*bert and Qubes... First game of Q*bert was 97,865 (Level 5) and First game of Qubes was 142,895... Not bad IMO not warmed up.

Then set my 6 in 1 Q*bert kit to start up in Mello Yello Q*bert!

I've never even been to that round, but I'm sure it's a huge pain. It would be annoying enough with no enemies, but factor in Coily and company and you're in trouble.

I should clarify... if you step on the same tile again it changes BACK to the original color. So, it's absolutely insane. It makes it really hard to finish the damn level!

Just a reminder that I really am going to give away a Q*Bert marquee and other nonsense.

q-bert

One of my biggest regrets in collecting was passing up a q-bert for $150 that only needed a power supply. I was new at collecting and didn't know anything about working on them. Fast forward a couple years and i won one at a auction, then a week later got one on craigslist fully working for $280. I love the fact that you can't play this game in mame due to the angled joystick. Dedicated is definately the only way to go on this one!

Spent a lot of time with my Q*Bert machine today....unfortunately it was all spent behind the machine trying to troubleshoot board issues. Boo! :( Someday I'll get this running or just break down and send the boards out for repair.

I'll be drawing the lucky name at 3pm EST time today. If you'd like to be entered in the exciting drawing then please participate in this "Best Q*Bert thread on KLOV". :D

Lots of Qbert talk.

Id like to pose a question that I suppose would fit in this thread nicely. I picked up my qbert a while ago, for cheap.

It came with a Faster, Harder, More Challenging marquee. You can see it was painted over, so as to not leave the factory. I have only read of 2 others, both from websites talking about it.

How many more are there out there?

Wow, that's really awesome. Would love to see a photo of that. I tried the Faster Harder More Challenging version in MAME and it was pretty neat. Would love to get a multi board to play that regularly and on the right hardware.
