Ok, all kidding aside...

Joe's deal in buying the infamous SW Chair fell through. Because of shipping costs.

Here's my idea/plan:

We need a solid state-to-state delivery setup so that this chair can make it to Phoenix from North Carolina.

If you are willing to help, please state what town/city you are in, and how far you are willing to drive it. You will be doing this as a volunteer, a part in the greater good of SW Chair preservation.

This needs to happen. This chair needs to be at CAX this upcoming year.

Here is the route. (It is in NC, yes???)

Who's in? I* will purchase this thing if it can get to AZ for free...

(Joe will actually pay, but I will "purchase" it from the seller)

Volunteer time is NOW! :D

If it ended up taking a more southern route, I could move it along I-10 from as far East as Lake Charles (or maybe even Baton Rouge/New Orleans) to San Antonio. I'll even be passing through the Fort Stockton area on I-10 in the first week of November, but that's a ways off.

BTW, I am really, really bad at geography, so... Gonna need help.

Route can certainly change. It's up to volunteers as to the route it takes. We just need it in AZ this year.

Where in NC is this chair? I'm ashamed to be in the same state.

I *think* Charlotte.

Too lazy to look up eBay ad right now, but pretty sure it's Charlotte.

I volunteered to pick this up many threads ago and I just came thru Charlotte with a trailer on Monday. :(

I can transport via I-20 from Atlanta to Birmingham. But I want my name on the chair.

What sort of shipping cost would make the deal go through? I can probably help. Sub-$200 isn't unthinkable for me to get as it's going to weigh less than a regular cabinet.

Lyonsarcade is in Rock Hill, He knows the seller. If he can get it to me in the next week or two, I have someone from Atlanta coming in that time period for a couple of projects and it could get a ride to Atlanta

OR... How about we collect a fund to pay for shipping? $5 or $10 each from just a few people would get it done quick!

I vote for this idea..just have people volunteer to contribute 5-10 dollars until the shipping costs are covered...but those who contribute get their names on a plaque that will be affixed to the 'chair'. ;)
