Check out what I found!

I'm trying to get more info on this now. It might be quite a lot of work but I'm seriously thinking that maybe I should get this and restore it to a Mario WB. Yeah they are not the most rare cab, but something I really want and the price is pretty cheap.

How hard is it to find the bezel and stuff?
I have yet to look at the machine but I'll probably head out there tomorrow night.

Well,
It looks mostly complete except for the marquee and bezel. They aren't the easiest to find but they turn up occasionally. That CP will need some work as it looks like they drilled a few extra holes in it. I'd get it if it were me, But I just got one that was in pretty bad shape. (A lot worse than that one) I guess it all depends on price though.

thanks for the encouragement, we should compare notes if I get it.
Whats sad is I think that it's all JAMMA now...

If you think that one's bad,
Here's a couple of pics of mine when I first got it home

Trust me, this is the good side and the pics actually make it look better than it did

And without showing too much of my progress, here is what it looks like in it's current state.
I still have to remove the other side and go over it with a fine toothed comb. sand, bondo, prime, paint, vinyl... But that's about it, then I can start to put it all back together.

It looks like a photo taken during major surgery.

No, no, just kidding man. Actually the serial tag has been painted over with some pretty thick paint and I haven't had a chance to "recover" it yet. I bet it's no where near 40 though. Thats pretty low. The closest thing I have to that is my Popeye cab it's # 107.

Well, here's the scoop.

I got it. $50 I can't loose. The Sanyo was intact and looking in good shape. With it's cardboard interior bezel. They replaced the MB bezel with tented acrylic.

They stripped out the Nintendo Harness, the Mounting area for the MB and just screwed the Sega board onto the side wall using PCB mounting feet. They jacked the CP with wilcos and old Besson buttons.

Missing the rear door but I have a DK and a PC10 so i think i can recreate that. The body is relatively solid and the bottom is 1/2 there. it's not TOO bad. they painted over the sides of course.

SERIAL NO# 01002

Of course I need help with the obvious MB WB parts.

Pulled all of these parts for Quartet off of Poor Mario.

I got my major pieces today. I'm thinking of a full strip down, but I really need to take some pictures of how bad it is before I want to get started on this one.

Poor Mario Pics

I'll try to hit the back of it this weekend.
I wanted to take some shots for a before and after... maybe the process also. I'm just generally not good at stopping while I work to snap shots though.

I got a majority of my parts in for restoring this thing.

I've dropped in the Used CP, Bezel and Marquee.

I've removed the Quartet MB and Switching PS. I have a Popeye Harness to restore it but then realized a problem. The Popeye is wired for the 4 way joystick that I want on P1 but there is no P2 side of the harness. The MB connector doesn't even have wires going to where the P2 pins. I can figure it out actually and lay in my own wires to the connector but I want to restore all of the right molex connectors on there and the wiring the the CP is a little screwy at this point and so is the wiring to the Coin Door as they hacked off the molex connectors off when they re-wired it for the Quartet 2.

Something to figure out today, if I don't get a chance to meetup with X-Arcade at the Norcal Storage Locker
