I never meant to own three Omega Races, honest! It just sort of happened... The mini came from ebay, the upright from craigslist, and the cocktail from smalltownguy. Only the cocktail was working when acquired.

Now that I have all three games - upright, mini, and cocktail - fully restored and working, I couldn't resist the opportunity for a group photo op. I did my best to recreate the arrangement from the original Midway flyer. (even though that was almost certainly a composite and not an actual single photo)

I wondered if having three working Omega Races concentrated in one location would violate some rule of the cosmos. I kept expecting a meteorite strike to take out my garage.

I know that I'm missing the cockpit, and, no, I don't plan to acquire one. Realistically, I don't plan to keep all three of these. The upright is staying; I've already moved it into my game room. I should sell the cocktail and/or the mini. (If you're interested, feel free to PM me. Please though, don't turn this into a for-sale thread! Oh, and don't expect these to be cheap.)

The last attached photo reveals the real reason why I ended up with three Omega Races - I'm secretly triplets! <grin>

In case you're wondering, I'm tired of working on Omega Races. My mission to complete these three is done, so now I can go back to working on Atari vectors.

I dunno....i think a cockpit would really finish things off. In fact, you could create a new flyer - the flyer that never was made in the 80s with all 4 together.

I played OR a number of years ago. It was ok but I didn't really get the hang of it. If I happened on one, I would probably try to fix it, but it wouldn't be a keeper for me.

AWESOME!!

I see you spruced up that cocktail after picking it up from me. Looks great!

Nice collection you've got there. You really do need the cockpit, you know. Then you can make yourself the supreme ruler of KLOV!

Oh, wait, I think someone else has already claimed that title.

That is way cool! I can't recall seeing anyone collect all 3 of the samples like this, great job!

And I agree, a cockpit would fit in nicely!

Nice! Love the pics. I'm jealous, would love to own an OR, it's on my list.

Thanks!

I gave the cocktail a thorough cleaning, replaced the speakers, replaced most of the t-molding, disassembled both control panels to clean & polish them, cleaned the coin door and polished the chrome parts.
I swapped the monitor out for a nicer one that had already been given my full rebuild treatment. Rebuilt the power supply, replaced the two big filter caps, replaced the fuse holders and AC power cord.
I swapped out the sound board for one that I had already gone-through (new caps, new header pins, new sockets). I replaced caps & the cpu socket on the main board and installed a lithium battery & blocking diode so that it'll remember high scores again. Then, I replaced all of the wiring harness connectors that go to the main & sound boards.
