I'll just take everyone's old board sets after they buy new ones.![]()
I have 2 boards- if you fix one of them, you can have the other! I could even run them up to your house!

Omega Race hardware is basically Asteroids with a Z80.

LOL, I just got another 2 and a half sets really cheap as much as I paid for one set. So at some point I'm going to buy bulk parts and go production line fixing them but its some time down the road maybe the end of JAN or FEB before I'm going to have the finances and time to start.
Ok.. don't get _too_ excited yet, but my buddy and I are looking for a winter project and are toying with the idea of making replacement OR boards.
These would not try to be exact copies of the board, as that would be silly.. but will be done using modern technologies (much like jrok's multi-williams board).
The questions are:
1 - How many people would be interested in such a beast?
2 - What price range would be acceptable ($150 $200 $250, etc)
3 - Would people want a complete board set, or just the main board
4 - Any inputs as to features, etc...
5 - General thoughts?
Not trying to get rich (we all know how well that works in this hobby!), just looking to exercise our engineer brains and OR is something that definitely needs a replacement board.
cheers

5) Make sure to get the frequency response right on the audio compared to the real board. That's the my only (very slight) complaint with the jrok multiwilliams board.
To threadjack just a bit..
I'd be interesting to hear what you think is so different ? I've side by sided Defenders and Robotrons without any noticable difference, and that wasn't just my observation. The WMS will go louder if you're aiming for ear bleeding volume.

Yours sound identical except that yours generates frequencies that are higher than the original that make it sound a little harsh. I've only compared to two original WMS audio boards, and I need to be more scientific. It'd be pretty easy to add a low pass filter on the output to make them sound the same. I've been meaning to record both and do frequency analysis to figure out where the cutoff needs to be, but I haven't gotten to it yet.
Mind you, I already have two of your boards and hope to get another one when you make more, so it is a minor complaint and is easily fixable. Is still the best modern classic gaming product and the only multigame board that I've been willing to use so far.
You should try replacing the capacitors on one of your Williams sound boards and compare them.
Any updates on this project?
