Does Omega Race save high scores?
Out of i think 4 sets i rebuilt and got working, all got external battery kits, but none would save high scores.
check the charging circuit. Also the battery needs charged for awhile before it will save the scores. Mine loses the scores if I don't play the game got while. You might also have a bad 5101 chip. Someone needs to design a nvram replacement kit. Any takers?
My guess is that until omegaman fixes more than 5 sets, there won't be a demand![]()
Yes it saves scores if the circuit is working correctly, and you have replaced the battery.

Isn't that what the infamous PCB-killing-battery does?
If not, what IS the purpose of that battery?
Several people have made 5101 NVRAM replacements over the years (that chip was used in many early solid state pinballs). I believe Spaeth still has some of his. I have one in my Omega Race.
I just use a 1F, 5.5v battery backup capacitor on mine and it'll save scores for over 4 or 5 months without being powered up. Like said previously, only the top one and two credit scores are saved.
I guess I'll add that my single credit high score is in the 300,000-350,000 range.ORDs rocks!!!

Ditto here and ditto on the ORDs too!
When you say they "made" them. Do you mean some kind of satellite board that matches the pinout of the 5101 or an actual nvram that is a direct plug in replacement?
