Omega Race Cockpit SE Nebraska $100.00

I saw this a couple weeks ago. Guy selling it is a good guy, and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him.

Here looks to be a good deal for someone in Lincoln, Nebraska ( NOT MINE )
Not sure if it has all its original parts, guy mentions something about a joystick.

$100.00

"It has the game Sky Shark installed"

Therefore the only thing Omega Race about this is the cab. Would be very expensive to convert back.

Would be good to use to make a VectorMame sit-down using a large 21" PC monitor (or 25" Vector).

What do you mean PF? What exactly would it need to be an Omega Race again besides the board? I only ask as it is right down the street from where I work, and I'm going to see it Thursday. Are we talking a few hundred dollars, or a $1,000+ ? I'll see if I can take some pictures of the insides when I see it.

Without destroying the orignal game itself, would it be possible to stick a xxxx-in-1 board into it? I'm thinking something to make use of it until sometime down the line if/when I find a working Omega Race board? I don't want to do anything to damage what's left of the original game, cab, or it's components, just want to have some fun until I find the right part(s).

With that Sky Shark installed, would that hopefully be just the board and the mentioned joystick as the only changes made, that we know of right now? Or would it have taken more to change it over to make Sky Sharks work?

You shut your damn mouth! Don't even think about converting that into a multi @#$!@#$%

Why not? It's already been converted. Either that, or track down a vector monitor, working Omega Race boardset (hah!), replacement spinner, etc, etc.

I have a monitor, full harness, board, etc. If that thing was within driving distance it would be in my game room ;)

Don't let another Omega Race die!

That has to be one of the funniest pics I've seen in a while, lol.

As I said, I don't want to do anything that will take away from the original Omega Race, I just asked an open question......and then I researched some more on the net and read how much would probably need to be changed. I do not want to do that, I'd rather save a classic and give it a heartbeat again. I'm just not familiar with this game, it's history, and what seems to be a "tall order" to get these back to spec.

I'll know more when I see it in person, and I'll try to grab all of the pics I can. I'd hate to drive myself crazy thinking about what it does or doesn't have that's original, without first seeing it. I'll update you guys after viewing it, if I do get this, I will be coming to all of you for help on this :D It may take a while, but I think this would be a good/fun project to really get my hands dirty.

It will have a good home if I get it, thanks for the input guys.

I saw that too, good luck with the restore Sterling, it would be fun...

So.........
Stopped by and looked at the Omega Race/Sky Shark today, it's not the best condition game I've seen, but I know it's not the worst that anyone's seen. As mentioned by Troxil(he says hi btw Troxil, and hopes you're enjoying your goodies you picked up), the guy was super nice to chat with, and a straight shooter. The first thing I asked him was about his history with the game. He purchased the game the way it sits today, so we can't blame him for jamma-fying this cockpit. So to clarify, neither him or I robbed the classic of it's internal organs, I want to make sure that was out there, lol. Anyway, much like myself, he had hopes of cleaning it up and doing something with it one day. Time restraints and other things got in the way and he decided to let it move on. So after about 1/2 an hour, it was time to decide. Everything fired up and worked, minus the joystick with the mentioned issues. Nothing inside the game was Omega Race(I don't think anyway), the wiring looked too new, it was replaced with a colored monitor, and things were missing from inside the cockpit under the monitor glass. With all of that being said, I didn't know how much I would want to get involved with it. Needless to say, he shot me a price I couldn't pass up, and now it's home.

Still haven't figured out what I'm going to do with it yet, but it's here. I think it might be cursed to, as soon as I paid for it, my day went downhill. All hell broke out at work, end of the work day I was informed that a friend of mine I hadn't seen in 6+ years passed away today(still hasn't really hit me yet), moving the game inside my house involved ripping a chunk out of linoleum that wasn't even a year old, and then when I wanted to make a nice relaxing stop at Bene's Pizza to play in the arcade after picking up some things in Omaha, that placed was packed to the rim with people. So I didn't stop, wanted some time to just be alone and vid out for a few, and forget how bad the day had become after the buy. So on that note, I'm calling it a day in a few minutes, but here's some pics as it sits right now. Nothing has been done to it yet, still dirty and sassy, the way I like it. First pic shows the linoleum rip.

You may also notice, there are no existing locks on this cab anywhere, who needs to keep track of those dang keys anyway, lol. More pics:
