I just obtained an Omega Race this last weekend and knew this was a problem on these but bought it anyway since the game still worked (and it was cheap). The battery literally rotted off the board and was laying in the bottom of the game. I have dealt with acid damage before on Pinball machine MPU's but nothing quite to this magnitude.

So the question: What is the best way to get this much damage off of the board without damaging traces, diode legs, and chip legs? And what is the best "REMOTE" battery to use in these when replacing??
