Wow I must say those are some of the best em pinball machines titles ever made. I wish I had the money for just one of them.

These are retail and completely shopped out.

Here is where I always check for pricing:

http://www.bostonpinball.biz/

They have a link to a spreadsheet and they have been tracking all ebay sales on most pinball machines and tell you the average going rate. I haven't picked up too many pins, but I have a friend that is up to 9 and he usually gets them for pretty close to the price on the list. Of course less if the machine is trashed, and more if it is shopped though.

Totally true about the fees and everything else. I just think it's a good starting point for an unshopped working pin. I figure if I am going to go look at a pin from Craigslist, a good price is probably that average price minus 10% since in person there are no ebay fees and I would have cash in hand.

Typically an EM pinball machine that's been sitting in a warehouse is not working. Of course they always tell you it was working when they "parked" it in the warehouse. Right... It will need to be completely gone through. We're not talking about just cleaning the playfield, changing the rubbers, and replacing the bulbs. We're also talking about cleaning and adjusting ALL of the leaf switches, rebuilding flippers, going through score motors, etc. This takes a ton of time... If you were to get an estimate from a tech that specializes in EM's, you would probably get a quote for close to $1000 to get the machine up and running. That's why these typically bring no more than $100 or so (give or take) in this condition.

Condition of the playfield, backglass, and cabinet also plays a huge part in the equation as well. If the cabinet, playfield, and backglass are shot then it's a parts machine. Expect to pay no more than $50 for a parts machine.
