old mall arcade or movie theater photos

Here is a picture of the Orange Julius I worked at in the mid-1980's. The right side of the picture shows where the Aladdin's Castle was located off the food court. Both the OJ and Aladdin's moved to the new food court in the mid-1980's.

This is in Sunrise Mall in Corpus Christi, TX. Looks like there might be arcade machines in the old AC space.

Hmmm, Orange Creations now huh... I wonder if its Silvester Stallone trying to keep Julius going

The only arcade or old school pics i can get out here in tucson is at a place called "Little Anthony's pizza"

What about Golf 'N' Stuff I remember that place when I was at Uof A and it looks virtually unchanged on the outside. Plus there is some 2 story mall in North Tucson that was in serious need of a remodel is it still dated looking?

Many of the malls in the 70s & early 80s have similar looks because they were designed by a select few companies that maintained their signature style in each one they built.

In western Massachusetts, we had one of the poster-boys of "dead malls" - the Mountain Farms mall. The Hampshire Mall across the street took all of their business away around 1978 or so. Mountain Farms stayed open for years with a scant few businesses inside; walking around it was like walking inside a gigantic tomb. I think I still remember them piping music into the overhead speakers from the local soft rock station long after the stores had closed.

True I know all those places. Golf 'N' Stuff arcade has really changed. The only classics it has is a modern Space Invaders/Qix with a 48 in 1 jamma board installed and a Millipede/Centipede/Missile command combos. Maybe a some new pinballs. The mall. I don't know if they have any arcades any more. or if they even did. its sad the classics are called out dated. :(

I guess their is some old theaters that were renovated i have never looked at though.

thats it!!

very saddening.. there used to be a bad ass arcade right across form oner of the thraters...

had a big screen(lots of monitors togther to make one of course), some krap industrial carpet on the floor but what i really remember was this funky orange shag carpet on the WALLS lol.. also had some sweet neon in it and on one corner was all the redemption krap including those air cannons that shot rubber balls at furry looking caracters/targets..

good times, good times.. I played a pp cockpit in there all the time.. also played some game with a gun on it.. old school mechanical game.. cant remember the name of it now to save my life....

i keep telling myself someday im going to use a ladder to steal the "movies" sign thats still up outside in the back of one of the theaters....
