Ok, WTF did I just get?

The thing about the buttons that it confusing me is that there is obvious places for 6 buttons on the left side of the CPO, but the right is empty of any sort of marking.

I'm leaning towards parting it out. I always hate the cut/burn/destroy videos and pics, but this cabinet may come to that end (unless someone in D-town want a rough Ivan cab)

I would strip it bare and smash/burn the rest. You have enough parts to build a whole new cabinet or sell the stuff and buy a complete working game elsewhere. lots of options.

Although... it would be one hell of a restoration thread if you brought Super Off Road back to life. But I suppose you could probably pick up a nice working cab for a fraction of what you'd put into restoring that one. So I say BURN IT!!! :)

Well, the mod has spoken! Guess I'm gonna start ripping this thing apart tonight.

Thanks for all the inputs. This site rocks :D

I'd agree to go ahead and gut it. But before you burn it I'd see if anyone else would want the cab. It does look like a mess but after gutting it there might be hope for someone to make something out of it. Cabinets around here aren't easy to find and if I was near you I'd take it and fix'er up for a mame cabinet or something. Ultimately it's up to you, but even something like that cabinet sure beats building one from scratch.

Yeah, I was going to offer it up on here for a week, then put it on CL for a week. Then smash it to bits.

i saw that on there too after it surfaced on CL. too scary looking and hacked more than i was interested in. i think the best grabs you'll make out of that is the monitor and the pcb's.

Definitely. I was looking at the picture on my phone, so I couldn't really see any detail. But at least I got the monitor, pcb's, and some spare wiring (along with other parts)

I just pulled the boards. There were 4, not 3 :D.

#1 was the one that was hooked up (the one that showed Tetris and Bloxee and possibly others on screen). It says Sega No. 302574. dated 1989, made in Japan.

#2 says Konami several places, had player 3 & 4 connectors installed, and is numbered on the underside PWB353366A (Google says Martial Champion Japan version).
IMAG0051.jpg

#3 also says Konami, and underneith says GX963 PWB351853A (Google says TMNT, w00t!)
IMAG0054.jpg

#4 says Street Fighter 2 right on it.

So, what is board #1?

That is really weird! At least you got a working monitor and a number of boards our of the deal.

That's the way I'm looking at it. There was a random toggle switch, a test button next to a rheostat-type switch, a connector running to SF2, player 3 & 4 running to "martial champion" (WeverTF that is), and the jamma harness running to that Sega board. Props to the guy who made it if it actually worked...

So, you don't have any other Jamma machines?

#1 Sounds odd. I have never seen a multi with Bloxeed.
#2 Looks like a Konami 4 player board, the ones that have a tendency to damage the sound chips with leaky caps.
#3 Looks just like the two TMNT boards I have here.
#4 Looks just like all CPS 1 Street Fighter (Hyper Fighting, Championship Edition, and a few others)

I've got 2 other Jamma machines. I just haven't swapped boards to check yet.

Based on the rom layout that's at the least a Champion edition, though could be Turbo or Hyper as well, the latter 2 were a swap of several of the roms under the cpu daughter card.

You called it. I just tested these games. They are:

#1 Bloxee (no Tetris, the "Tetris" I saw was on the copyright page)
#2 Mystic Ninja (surprisingly fun)
#3 TMNT
#4 SF2 Champion Ed

They all tested working as far as I can tell (I don't have a 6 button or start button Jamma cab yet).
