Ok, WTF did I just get? (updated 12/16 w. board info)

I just picked this up off CL. The add was worded:

arcade game - just pick it up it is free (the screen works it has 3 games on it: tetris, and some others, but I cannot get it to work properly, needs some help)

He wasn't kidding about that last part. The cabinet is trashed, and he and I couldn't figure out how to actually play the thing. It seems to boot fine, but the wiring is FUBAR'ed.

Sticker on the front says Capcom. Looks to be from a different era from the rest

pics and more info, this thread is totally useless without more info

Doesn't look like standard arcade connectors to me, but I'm a n00b at this...

I had some boards that were modified the same way, I wonder if Popular Mechanics or some other magazine published a how to article for modifying arcade machines with readily available computer parts in order to stack games inside...

BTW, I think the cab was once an Ivan Stewart Super off Road.

Yeah, looks like an Ivan Stewart to me too (I had to google it first though). What a waste of one of my favorite cabinets.

BTW, the CPO has the Juggernaut, Captain America, Wolverine, Hulk, etc.

The game that's shown playing is 'Bloxeed', a Tetris type game with powerups.

I saw that earlier today and was wondering wtf it was...can't beat free!

I was on the phone with him 11 minutes after it was posted (my Craigslist search popped it up 10 minutes after it was posted). I was at his house 2 hours later (I was at work, and had to grab a truck). He received calls #7 & 8 while I was there. I just got lucky I guess. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it though lol

The top one does look like SF2, but not quite. I think it's something similar though.

The two strange connectors are probably to hook up the control panel.

That IS an Ivan Stewart, the power supply is still mounted in the original position in the cabinet. Crazy.

Looks like to switch games, you opened the front door and just moved the Jamma Harness.

Yeah, those connectors are for the CP (I had to unhook them to remove it). What's weird is that when the game is running through it's "attract" mode, it shows Tetris and Bloxee.

Ok, so here's the $0.50 question, is there any reason I should try to save this thing, or should I just part it out? It's a wiring nightmare with all of the joysticks/buttons wires soldered (instead of crimped).

Also, is that a identifiable CP, or is that just something the previous owner hacked together?

Which buttons are correct (or are they all right)?

Marvel Super Heroes is a SFII esque fighter, so the two six button configurations are correct. However, in my opinion none of the buttons are "right". Is the control panel wood? Can it be plugged and redrilled for a more appropriate configuration?

I honestly don't know if trying to save this one is worth it. You have a ton of parts there and if you are willing to put some work in you could have a pretty unique Jamma cab, but it is big and space holds a lot of value for me.
