Ok, who tried to fix this Centipede board?!?!

I kinda hope it works. LOL I would go over the work first and verify the solder connections are good. Who knows how old this hack is.

I had a Centipede board like that but it had about 3x the mess on it.

I pulled all the crap, replaced 1 bad chip, and reinstalled the missing factory components.

It's another one of those "I should've taken pictures" moments too. I keep a camera around the bench now.

It's like a piece of art!! :D

The last time I saw that much circuitry above the board was on some prototypes at a previous company. The head tech managed to get all the changes we needed fitted into way too small a space that way. Of course we never let anyone else use that - it was just to make sure the circuit was right!

So, no update today, I'm assuming it didn't work, and took him with it.

Ok, sorry for leaving everybody in limbo on this!! Threw a crystal on it and fired it up, came up with a pic believe it or not but kept reseting every 2 sec. Stood there in aww that I even saw that on the screen. Well I figured I'd try to operate while the ol' Weller was still hot and decided to remove the beautiful mass of circuitry. I fixed the trace the mass was hooked into and then it was time....plugged it in, flipped the switch and the picture was complete now but still reset every 2 sec. Well I was standing there itching my head thinking what the hell could be causing this and all of a sudden the damn thing cleared up and played 100%!! I've never seen such a thing happen but hey, I'm good with it!! :D
