If it was anyone here, and if you don't have a StarFire to use them in, I could really use them for my StarFire. They were BIN before I saw they were available...I know, snooze u loose but I wasn't snoozing...really! PM me is you really don't need them and would let them go.

Or if anyone has some of these boards you'd like to sell drop me a PM.

Thx
Tom

I think the BIN was $75. I saw them when they popped up but sadly, had no use for them.

Can you email the guy who had the auction and see if he can give you the buyer's info? I can't remember if you are able to email the seller once the auction ends....

Hey, why aren't you calling your Star Fire Man?
I'm sure I have at least one board I can spare you. I'll have to check the storage bin though. Whats the state of what you have? I know those boards were unusual. Had a lot of boards and chips floating over the main board. I know that machine was working though. Just a little glitchy on the monitor. Have you tried a standard happ instead of the crappy original TV the machine came with?

The Phototek monitors were in most Star Fires, AFAIK, but some had the Teknika, which is a Wells 4600.

If you have the Teknika/4600 in there I'd cap & keep that over a new Happ, but even the Phototek monitor is so unique it really should be left with the machine.

Fire One uses the same main board as Star Fire; the daughter boards differ.

I saw Tom's and another both from Vancouver. Television sets with plastic wood veneer.
Definitely original hardware. Mine does have the original Phototek but it's behaves badly. I love being a purist and all but SF responded very well to "cough" an LCD panel. Just back the TV out a bit and slip it in. Hey, its just a compromise so I can play. Don't shoot!

As long as you didn't destroy or throw out any original hardware you're ok in my book, because at least if someone in the future is desperate to have it totally original everything is still there to make that happen.

No, it's all still there. After the last repair, the original survived 2 years of CAX but started failing at the end of last years show. Probably another couple hundred to tune it up again, thus the quandary.
Unlike some arcade titles, SF responded well to every monitor I tried.
The LCD panel looked very good, perhaps because the graphics are more simple.

Ebay wont let you contact the buyer, you cant even see who the buyer is. I doubt the seller will give you that info, its against ebays buyer protection policies. And the seller wont do it over ebays email system cuz ebay will have proof of it and can suspend his account. Trust me Ive been suspended twice and had my buddys account suspended once cuz ebay knew I was using his acount..lol So I know their policies in and out...

Perhaps rather than ask the seller to actually give you the buyer's contact info, you can talk him into just giving the buyer a message with your contact info, that way nobody's privacy is violated?

It was an overseas bidder and I'll leave it at that. Those boards were pretty rough, rusty, thus the low price.

Sorry guys,
Anthony

Heh, I love reading all of the replies.

Trevor - I'll PM you on the StarFire, the original monitor (TV) is fine. I worked with it and it has a really great picture now but it's good to know a LCD panel will work if something happens to it.

I was mainly interested in the boards for spare parts for my game in case it has any further issues. Yes, they were in sad shape, but they did have all of the daughter boards on the main board. You just don't see stuff come up for sale for this game but once in a blue moon - or less.
