Ok, who here has the most boards?

Would one of you with many boards sell a Gauntlet 2 board lol?! I wish I got onto this hobby 20 years ago! Some of you have a bunch!

It's been FIVE YEARS since an account has been reset for not participating in the census (before we took it over). So long in fact that we are about to start doing it again in a modest way to clear out some of the junk entries, but in no way that should affect you.

Give it a try. The census project is a good cause and you might find it useful.

The same thing happened to me, which is why I bailed.

But I figure I'll slowly test the waters to see what happens. I recently updated my account, but only the cabinets and not all the PCBs I have.

P.S.: I just noticed that there is a high score column at VAPS now. I put in some scores, but I noticed that the commas I put in separating the numbers don't show up.

I know of one person ( not me ) who has more then you. how he knows where it is all at is beyond me ....

I just snagged a Goindol PCB off of Ebay because I couldn't resist and thought I'd throw the question out there, which is who here has the most PCB sets? I'm not talking about people whom sell them as a business either, just people whom collect them.

I've got a few but I'm sure there's PLENTY of people here who can blow my collection out of the water.[/QUO

I win hands down around 6000

I'm trying to collect working spare boards for all my games as extra
cash comes up.. so that will be about 20 boards in the end..

Of course then I'll need spares for the spares:) My sig has a couple I
am looking for right now.

I cant even fathom 500+ boards.. I gotta ask for those that
have huge board collections..

How did it begin?
Why did it never stop?
Do you ever pull them out to play them?
Mostly Jamma I assume?

I think VAPS still has the rule about you have to be able to find the board and play the board within 15 minutes in order to have it listed in VAPS.

But now that VAPS has become more of an inventory system for boards/parts for sales as well, the two rules kind of conflict.

RE: VAPS, I think my account was there for just a few days before it was wiped clean in whatever housekeeping they were doing at the time...Under new management? I'll check it out :)

What VAPS used to do was to send out an email reminder that you had to at least log into your account every 6 months or your records would get deleted. It kept everything quite active. It worked fine for years until spam filters started preventing people from getting the reminder emails. When I took it over, the number of VAPS 'members' had dropped by more than half in under too years.

When I took over, I turned off the auto-delete and email system entirely. Now we have the opposite problem... too many records that are way too stale. I'm inclined to start pruning records again for people that don't log in, but not to do so quite so militantly. Also, I want to send out reminder emails again but before I do we need to join Microsoft's endorsed email reputation service, Return Path (http://www.returnpath.net/resources/casestudies/ ) In other words, go through a lot of hoops, fill out a lot of forms, and give them a healthy $ check every year :(

Is there a way to import or export your VAPS entries? This may help people or motivate more people to keep it up to date.

I did used to get those reminder e-mails. But they were never clear on exactly what to do. Then one day it was gone.

It would have been better to just send the reminder e-mail with the requirement of logging in to one's account. Perhaps have a "last edited" time/date stamp posted boldly on every individual's page. That would give visitors an idea of how active each account is.

If you need to delete, send out multiple reminders down the stretch. (ie: 1 month, 7 days, 3 days, 1 day).

I am still winning so far

a little late on the thread but my fricking garage is full of boards, pallets full guessing 2500+

My VAPS entry lists 502 boards, though actually there a few more as some still don't have an entry in the KLOV database (like Loverboy).
Additionally there are around 200 non-working plus around 100 untested ones, so I guess the total is around 850.
