Ok what's wrong with this? Link to video of monitor

I had this cab running fine, but I decided to drop a 60n1 into it to see what they are like.

I put in a new Jamma harness and a new 60n1 board. The cable coming off of the chassis for the monitor has 5 prongs:

RED, GREEN, BLUE, GROUND, and a 5th cable that is plugged into Positive V Sync. There is no cable plugged into positive H sync or negative h sync or negative V sync. (This was the way it was working before with another board, there were no problems at all).

the jamma harness would not plug into this differnet port, so I have to splice in the jamma harness. The problem (I think) is that the jamma harness just has a 'video sync' cable but not a separated sync cable like the chassis likes.

Just to be sure I messed around with all the different adjustments on the back of the chassis, and nothing made this display any better. I did see changes to the various colors when those knobs were turned. You can tell that the video is changing, I can see various screens try to display but none of them look any better than this.

Here is a link to the video of what it looks like. I didn't know how to embed it so click away..

What the heck is wrong here?

Can anyone explain what could be wrong here? I'm in the dark on this one. Do people need more pics of the chassis or something to help figure it out?

IIRC, the 60n1 boards output a negative composite sync, so you'll need to connect that to the negative H and negative V sync inputs of your monitor for it to work correctly.

What kind of monitor is it? If you don't know, please post a pic of the chassis and the video connector.

The 60 in 1 boards (and virtually all Jamma) output a composite negative sync. Depending on the chassis used you may need to connect the sync to both the negative horizontal and verical, or you may just need to connect to one or the other.

hmm, i've tried several combinations of using one negative, both negative, some positive, etc. and its still the same.

Here are some pics of the chassis. Forgive my ignorance on what kind this is.

There is a 6 pin connector at top, and a 3 pin connector below it. These are sitting on the plug in card on the chassis. In the pics you can see the previously used video cable attached to the 6 pin connector.

That's a Wells-Gardner 19K4600, and the composite negative sync signal should connect to pin 3 (the bottom pin) of the 3-pin connector.

Does adjusting the H-Hold pot (VR351) or V-Hold pot (VR301) have any effect?

No, adjusting the pots, any of the pots, does nothing.
That's what is so maddening I think.

Success

Ugh, I forget sometimes that I am a noob at this.

When I was adjusting the pots I was being too timid. This time I cranked the shit out of the pots and bingo! picture is better.

Some fine tuning tomorrow and we're golden!

Thanks for all your help guys!
