check voltages at the power supply.edge connector could be playing up,clean socketed chips but,ity an atari game and the board might be faulty but,you need to eliminate an other contributing factors.

not uncommon to find blown resistors on atari ar boards.

remember im a newbie at all this...i checked the voltage with my meter already and thats fine....but what do you mean edge connectors? a picture wold help this fool! and what are socketed chips...again a picture? im lost but im dying to play this game its killing me!!!! thank for your help!

First off, does the LED on the main board light? That's the +5v indicator. Near the edge connectors are about 20 loops of metal. Those are test points and should be labled w/ silkscreen. Check all the voltages there. You should see GND, +5V near the top (by the LED).
-5V, +22V, -22v, -15v in the middle-ish. And, +15V, -30V near the bottom. The important one is the +5.

....but what do you mean edge connectors? ...and what are socketed chips...?

The edge connector is the the black connector w/ all the wires connected to the "edge" of the board. Sometimes they get dirty and makes bad connections. There are 2 on centipede. A 22 pin and a 12 pin. Clean them w/ alcohol and q-tip. The socketed chips are the chips NOT soldered directly to the board. They sit in a socket. Take a small screw driver and "Very Carefully" insert the screw driver between the chip and socket and pry it off. Be careful not to bend the pins too much. Take a brass wire brush and gently brush off the pins and re-insert back into the socket. Make sure you notice which way the chip came out. DO NOT insert the chip backwards. Every chip has a notch on one side and I beleive that the notch points towards the edge connector. That should keep you busy for a little while.

Your sync is off, and needs to be adjusted. If it has a G07 monitor in it adjust the H Freq, and post another pic of what you get.

yes the light on the board is lit up...the little red light. yes the player one and player two buttons are lit up red and not flahing. ill try to adjust the h feq and see what that does.....and clean the connectionw with alcolhol.....wish me luck!

when the board is credited or set to freeplay if i am not mistaken the players lights should actualy flash.means that a credit is there and player can press button to play.

is it you or is it me but, your monitor chassis looks exactly like the pic that dokert posted.the h syn looks to be that pot underneath the neck board.

you have a combination of problems. Getting a stable picture on the monitor will help aid you in finding your other problems.

You have a G07 monitor.

yea i figured that...i think my main problem is the monitor not being adjusted right. id hate like helll to have to call soeone out to adjust it but if need be anyone know someone ios south florida who fixes these things?
