OK, my Berzerk is nearly complete, the stencils are done, the paint is curing. It could use some touch-ups along the edges in a few spots, but over all it has been painted. With the texture, I am getting different sheens in the black red and blue areas. I would like to even the sheen over the whole cabinet. I am thinking of covering the sides with satin poly. I have a nice poly brush, and as the sides are already textured, would this work? Would the sheen seem more uniform? I used the same brush on my smooth, oil-based black bar shelves and there are no brush strokes and the sheen is perfect:
I heard rolling poly creates bubbles, and I am not in a position to use my HVLP set-up inside at this point, so a high quality brush is my only viable option if I want this moved into the game room within the next few weeks. Will satin take the gloss/ shininess down, or will buffing it make it just as shiny?
