Well, my buddy needed some smokes while we were at the game store, so we ran across the street to some grungy tobacco store...we walk in, and low and behold, there's a HOOK pin! The only weirder place I've found a pin is a Star Wars in the log cabin that my gf's family bought! This made me think, what pins have you found in odd places?

weirdest place i have found one is in a hotel in iowa. now, finding a pin in a hotel isn't all that odd....but WHERE this pin was in this hotel was really strange. it was tucked away in a back hallway near the pool....like, on the way to the laundry room. i think we stumbled across it while looking for a bathroom. looked totally out of place.

I have a silver slugger in my shop for repairs and the owner said he bought it from an old lady that just bought a 3 floor house that was vacant for 5 years. The pin was on the 3rd floor covered with a blanket. $200 and the playfield is dirty but an easy 8 out of 10!!

Bally KISS pin in my uncles garage. "OK, pin in a garage, not that weird," you say. Well, the weird part is that when I was 7 years old, my cousin and I played the HELL out of that pinball machine until one day it stopped working and into the garage it went.

Fast forward 25 years (2007), and I had totally forgotten about that pinball machine. I didn't really get smokin in this hobby until about 2008, and didn't get into pins until 2010. Imagine my surprise when I was talking about arcades/pinball at a family holiday in late 2010 and my cousin mentioned the KISS pin in her dad's garage. I had toally forgotten about it.

Needless to say, I pulled the backglass and boards immediately for safekeeping. The boards have since been repaired (acid damage killed the MPU) and they are awaiting the cabinet to be extricated from my uncle's garage. I told my cousin that I would store her pin in my arcade until she owns a home suitable to keep it in, since she's currently renting an apartment and has a new baby. She told me that she will likely let me keep it indefinitely.

She was bequeathed the pin from her grandpa, my uncle's father-in-law. That's who owned it back in the day. He had purchased it from a bar owner in 1982.

I can't believe all these years there was a free KISS pin just sitting in my uncle's garage just waiting for me to come and save it.

There is a beat to shit South Park on the Ferry from Digby, Nova Scotia to St John, New Brunswick. The ferry rocks so bad, They have to chain all the larger trucks down to the floor. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the South Park. I really wanted to try it out. But the boat was rocking side to side so badly, there was no way to play it. Although that could have been the point, Would have taken a lot of money to play it for more than 3 mins.

you crazy Canadians :p what do you want to bet they used the dirty language one too :p

Oh MAN, can you imagine?

"WTF? My ball is going UP the ramp on its own...."

Talk about handicapping a player :D

a bit off subject, but about 10 years ago I went on a cruise with my wife. The ship sat in port an extra day because there was a major hurricane heading up the coast, and they had to see which way it was gong to turn. Anyway, it turned north, we headed south and passed a couple hundred miles to the east of it. Talk about some extreme wave action, and massive swells, lot of people didnt eat much the 1st day:D

anyway, We were on the top deck the first day playing ping pong, and that added a whole new dimension to the game when you hit the ball and the table falls out from under it:rolleyes:
