I went to pick up a Sega Top Skater game over the weekend and I (stupidly) damaged the machine in transport. When I loaded the game, I had the 50" big screen monitor facing toward the front of the truck. Ten minutes from home, the wind picked up and cracked the plastic monitor screens.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement screen?
The monitor was a 50" Toshiba big screen. I had my friend at a electronic retailer check on the replacement part from his store and the cost was $300 for the plastic screen.
I'm looking locally for a broken tv to use for parts, but no luck yet.
Just seeing if anyone has any suggestions for finding the parts. Thanks, Ryan.

I posted a wanted ad for $25 for the screens and had two replies on craigslist,
but just had the usual no shows so far.

Does anyone know if the screens can be from any 50" tv or do I need to have a Toshiba?
Just looks like a piece of plastic to me, but there is fine cuts placed into the plastic screen.

They are actually plastic lenses ones a fresnell i forget the name of the other. id think any would work, but might not be quite right. id definately be preferring 50 inch toshiba ones..

i happen to have spare TOSHIBA/SEGA lenses. i bought a top skater monitor (with the whole front end) and gutted the monitors boards to fix my toshiba in my star wars. I saved the lenses figuring i might need them someday.

I dont mind making you a deal on them but im horribly afraid to ship them. id have to make some sort of crate, theyd probhably have to be shipped frieght due to size.

if nothing local comes up in the near future lmk. these arent perfect some scuffs etc as youd expect but they were nice enough for me to keep them.

also if you need game boards later on lmk i have a tested working( coined up, played , good sound, but didnt have the board part to actually play) i could also make a deal on but same story if you wanted the whole stack it would have to go frieght.

I'll keep you in mind if I can't find the screens.
As of right now everything is working fine, but you know how that can go.

Yeah, I've got a lens or two that you could have, but it looks like I'm 5.5 hrs from you. You should be able to find free broken rear projections on CL pretty easily... any 50" should work fine (and if not, throw it away and try again).
