Well I touched up the spot on the bottom of my Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man backglass and applied the standard 2 coats of Krylon Triple Thick. Good news: Flaking has seemed to stop and the touch up work on the bottom isnt scratching off. The Bad: Now all the artwork has webbed and bubbled.

Where do I go from here? Is this pretty much a lost cause, or can it be smoothed up somehow? Would a local glass shop be able to help? Please, I need input!

Did you apply too thick perhaps?? That really really really sucks...

I think I probably didnt wait long enough between coats, about 15 minutes or so. Maybe I should have waited a few hours? I did put a heavy coating on the bottom part and started seeing the webbing form at the bottom so I stopped there. When I got home today I was shocked to see it had spread to the entire backglass.

The backglass is still useable but the bubbling can definitely be noticed from the front, I bet even more so when its backlit (havent reinstalled it yet).

Well, anyone know where I can find one?

One thing you're definitely going to see when it's backlit is the huge slab of brown paint.

Sucks that it bubbled like that. I've done tons of glasses with very thick coats and never had anything like that happen. Did you use Krylon triple thick?

Interesting. I had the same thing happen to a babypac marquee which has that same silver paint on the back of it. It may have something to do with that silver paint they used on these. I used triple thick and followed the directions that are on the web. When I posted about it I got the same answers how nobody has had this happen to them.
Btw, I need some boards for my mr&ms pac if you have any spares around.

I would try and find another one. That backglass isn't pretty. It looks like it got alot of touchup work done to it. At least you didn't spray a mint one, hoping to preserve it, and wind up ruining it. I feel for you though....that sucks.

also i have to ask did you place it in the sun to dry if so that might have done it too.

I know, just this past year, Krylon had to change their formula on their paint. It is not the same as it used to be. I bet that included their clear as well.

Dont have any spares. My MPU is bad and I've been debating on getting an ultimate, but I found someone willing to repair mine. I do have some spare instruction cards and inserts if you need any of those.

Yeah I know, but I wasnt worried about the brown spot. It would have looked better that a bald spot, but now that the entire artworked is messed up I'm wishing I never even touched it. Yes, I used Krylon's Triple Thick which seems to be the recommended store bought product for this.

Nope. Sprayed and dried in the basement.

Anyone have a decent backglass & can take hi-res photos for me? Maybe I can get someone to print one up or something.
