In a solar fox cabinet...

Wish my parts would hurry up and get here. Haha

Special thanks to Steph from hobbyroms for the roms, my late operator buddy Ken K. for the pcbs and cdjump and hudsonarcade for the pcb info i needed.

This will soon to be transplanted into its home.

Congrats. I'm finally going to start putting mine back together this weekend. Fingers crossed.
I am going to plop the pcb in it's cabinet this weekend. I still need my cp, tap handles to arrive. And still need to find a 4 way midway stick and some tap bases. Guess i will be playing it on ninja gaiden sticks. Poor tapper. It wants to be nice but will have to wait.

Congratulations! Got mine in progress as well, missing the cp RBT, hope Takeman gets those going soon! Getting my harness from Golden age this week!

I started throwing my cabinet together this past weekend. Now i need a 12 volt transformer or a suitcase. And some tap bases. Rest of the parts are in the mail. Oh and a lot of glue. This cabinet is starting to separate everywhere.
Hope to be playing it on the wrong controls this weekend.

I bought a 12v transformer off Amazon. No suitcases around so I have to improvise.

Jameco Valuepro P-8657-R Power Transformer 12V @ 2 Amp 117 VAC Wire Leads https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B88632C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_EMYJCYHPY103CW8AEG6P

Combining with an Arcadeshop power supply.

It worked okay? I read you need 4amp isolation transformer and people were using a 6amp from digikey but there was a backorder there when i looked.
Haven't tried it yet, friend built the same rig and it worked fine.

tapper is in its new home.

waiting for a new takeman control panel. Have a pheonix arcade overlay.
Still looking for controllers. Have some repro taps.
Have to wire up all the lights and coindoor. Finish scraping ninja gaiden control instructions that were glued to glass. Properly mount shroud (drill some holes in the g07 frame) And figure out why the game boots with this message in the following picture. Glue some wood. Get a mcr pcb holder if they ever get them in at paradise again. Find a suitcase. i put a cap kit and flyback in the g07 but the b+ is max 117v and the screen looks like crap. Pushed far left and indented in top right. Like a curl issue. Waiting for more monitor parts and and pattern generator in the mail. Will fine tune monitor and change all the pots and voltage regulator at the same time. Atleast i can play it getto style. With sound. Side art is intact but grey/brown faded. Need to polish brass and get it plated. Ways to go but its almost there. Few more weekends.

As far as I know, the board timeout on boot is normal. My Root Beer Tapper does the same thing. I have seen it on other Tappers as well.

Thanks for the info! Thats a huge relief. The pcb was very clean, almost nos (still had the red wax/plastic on the dips) so this is good news. My pcb seems solid then. I was a little panicked. Lol

I fixed my board timeout on boot.
i was missing channel 4 in channel test. Fixed that channel and now the game has no more timeout message on boot up.

Holy shit, solar fox has a cool cabinet. Is that a mini/cabaret?!

edit: I see it now, mirror. Too cool. Might have to think about looking for one :)

It goes good next to omega race. Mirror. Black light. Space stuff inside. Mine is full size upright. They look a tad narrower but are 24.5" wide. Unfortunately my pcb has red stripes on screen i still have to fix.
Eventually i will get an asteroids deluxe to park next to it.
