Oh, my God... Baby Pac Man... this is a real thing?

I'm in the love club for Baby Pac. To me it's a 'you had to be there' game to really appreciate. This game was not conceivable at the time, way way way before Pinball 2000 but when you saw it in an arcade? You played it and couldn't believe it existed. When you think they did just about everything with Pac-Man then they went ahead and did this too so every time I saw it bitd, I would run home and say to my family & friends.. 'You wouldn't believe what they had at this arcade, they had a Baby-Pacman. BABY PAC-MAN. Can you believe it? 1/2 arcade game / 1/2 pinball. It was hard as he-- but really cool and loved it, want to play it again'.. and always looked for it.

It's resulted in my first car (87 Pontiac Fiero) sitting in a storage unit next to my 1973 Volkswagen Bus, where they've been for 12 years (imagine the storage fees).

Is the 87 Fiero the base model or the SE? At least you are keeping the sun off the center console so it doesn't get that typical vinyl curl.

I have an 88 Fiero Formula that is also sitting, just haven't got enough hours in the day to keep up with all the hobbies.

Just so I'm not being criticized for being uncaring to the environment, everything is LED in my house, I have low-flow everything, just replaced all my plants with native Florida plants (I live in Florida obviously), and reduced my water consumption to next to nothing, using a GPS / weather wifi module for my watering system to reduce the amount of water it uses. I compost, recycle damned-near everything, and would even compost my own crap if my neighbors didn't look at me weird.

But... my Super PacMan arcade basically has a single power supply that feeds the 60-in-1 board. It has an LED-strip that powers the marquee, and a Dell LED monitor (that uses very little power). My life is very hectic... basically going from one thing to the next, repeatedly. I'm doing things constantly, and so are the other family members. At any given time, I may walk over to the SPM and bust out a game of Pac Man Plus. The wife loves Super Pac Man, and the daughter loves Centipede. If I had to turn it on, it would be a step too many, and I'd be unlikely to actually play it spontaneously.

Hahaah!!!
Where in Florida do you live? I'm in Ocala.

Welcome to the hobby, as my way of helping get balls deep in it, I will sell you half of my collection, as it sits now I have 38, take 18 of them off my hands and I'll have room for my score tomorrow when I add another 10. I will eventually run out of room. Help a brother out.

It's an 87 SE / V6. Believe it or not, for 86-87, they also had an SE that came with all the V6 stuff (gauge cluster, 120mph speedo, aero package, dual exhaust), but had a 4 cyl in it. They are (at least by numbers), the rarest Fieros ever made... hahah... not necessarily the most sought-after though.

Mine is an 87 SE though, but with the V6. It had the Th-125c automatic, and now has the 5-Speed Getrag. I love the 88 Formulas. Is it a 5-Speed? The two quickest stock Fieros were the 88 Formula 5-Speed and the 85 GT 4-Speed with the 3.65:1 gearing.

I had an 85 GT back in ~1999 that someone had decked the heads (compression was now like 9.2:1) and had swaped in a 4.10:1 4-Speed... it was really quick... couldn't even get traction from a clutch drop until I'd shifted into third.

Frogger? It looks more like the shape of a Zaxxon or Congo Bongo cabinet to me. Or do you mean someone sold you a frogger in a zaxxon cabinet?

The cabinet itself was a Zaxxon, but the control panel was a Frogger. The Frogger control panel was the same dimensions and size as the Zaxxon one, which I needed because I wanted something that didn't already have holes in it. Frogger only had a joystick, which is now a track-ball hole, and I was able to add the other buttons simply with a bi-metal hole saw. The Zaxxon cabinet had been stripped, and was slated for the dumpster when I got it... so I don't really feel bad about using it. There were no boards in it, and everything had been removed.

I'm in a suburb of Tampa right now, Lithia... neat little town called Fishhawk within Lithia. Sort of like old-style downtown Chicago, because all the homes are modeled after historic American designs.

Thanks! I'm not really NEW to the hobby, but was a casual observer for a long time. I've had my Missile Command since 1998, but only recently have gotten more interested in fixing up what I have. I'm nervous, because I definitely love arcade games, and thankfully we don't have basements here in Florida... otherwise I'd probably have filled it with arcade machines!!!

Adding my name to the list of Baby Pac fans. It is my favorite game in my collection.
It is VERY hard for beginners.
Freeplay makes a difference. If I were feeding it quarters back when it was new, it would have gotten exactly one of mine. For that reason, I can see why it wasn't popular at the time it was new.

The one I own is the only one I have ever seen in person. I must live a sheltered life? I also spent many many hours getting it working when I first got it.
