I bought this game and it had a really dim picture. So I recapped it and replaced the flyback. Upon firing it up I had vetical collapse figured out that solder had dripped of the tip of the iron and bridged some connections. Fixed that and the pic was still dark at this point and I had not really left the monitor on for very long. Smalltownguy2 and Dlbagn stopped by with a rejuvenator we had some beers made cr23 adapter and rejuvenated the monitor. Picture turned out better than I couldve imagined.

Now the problem I was playin some D&D when I noticed the screen darken then brighten this kept happening with the picture getting darker and darker I shut it off waited 10-30 minutes and turned it back on and the pic came back perfect. Decided to reflow the connections on the video pins and in the locations highlighted in the sticky. Thought it was fixed but sure enough about an hour into the stress test the problem presented itself again although this time I noticed on the white attract screen that there were lines developing vertically on screen being more prominent on the left side. Left it on for a bit longer and the game was playing blind when I came back down from dinner. I shut it off then back on and the picture came right up.

Any ideas guys? If I cant get this going soon Im just going to send it out for repair.

sounds like a cold solder joint some where. or your brightness pot needs cleaning or replaced. also clean or replace the contrast pot as well i would try that first.

and check the vertical size pot i had one that was bad and it caused vertical colaps cause it was broke.

also make shure the annode is clean and seated that will cause the pic to go black over time as well

Went over the chassis with a magnifying glass reflowed any and everything that looked questionable. Reflowed the connections on the neckboard socket just for good measure along with the pins for the yoke connector. Ran for 2 1/2 hours without a hiccup.

Dont wanna jinx it but it apears to be functioning correctly for now.

exelent news

good to hear hope it keeps on going.

i fixed 9 K7000 19" chassis in the last two days. it takes a good wile to hit all the solder pads i feflow when fixing chassis and burns alot of solder but it fixes all thoes hidden problems on thoes chassis. plus changing all the caps as well.

again good to hear that it's working good for you.

Peace

Problem could have been the tube. Sometimes they need to run a bit before they get stable, especially if the monitor's been down for a while. A rejuv will take care of it if it IS the tube...

Ive ran it the last two days for over 2 hours and no problems. The tube was rejuved and looks excellent Im hoping it wont die to fast.

Yeah, I'm REALLY happy the way that tube came out after shooting it with the rejuvenator. Green gun was definitely crudded up fo sho.

Thanks for the beers and the game time. Always loves me a little Terminator 2 action. Maybe some day I'll actually BEAT that damn game.

Hope your monitor keeps glowing for years to come.
