I just picked up the last machine that'll fit in my arcade machine. I've been looking for one of these for a while:

Fantastic Gary!! I'm so glad you got it!

As soon as I saw it listed I thought to myself 'Gary wants one of those, I gotta let him know'. Helping another collector who's been looking for one is almost as good as getting a game yourself!

Seems like you are responsible for me having at least 3 of the machines that I have. . Defender, Omega Race, and Star Castle. THANKS! :) :) :)

Now I just need to find something that you are looking for. . what are you looking for anyways?

I'm so Jealous! Been working on mine for 5 months now ready to set it a blaze

Andrew

Well, it works today. . knock on wood. :) I know how these things go, and I'm getting used to working on my machines more than I play them. Fortunately I enjoy learning about working on them.

The analog audio circuit in this thing sounds AWESOME!

Nice find, I was hoping it would go to someone in the group. I was thinking it would be cool to have another Cinematronics at the show next year hopefully it will make an appearance.

If I can convince myself that getting them up and down the stairs isn't unreasonable, I'll try to have at least these there next year:

1) Star Castle
2) Omega Race
3) Pooyan (in another cab)

The rest of my machines are pretty common.

The bottom on the Star Castle needs some love. . .damn particle board! Looks like it had an accident at some point. The whole base panel could stand to get replaced. I'd probably want to do that before moving it anymore. My Double Dragon has the same problem to the point where the front drawer doesn't want to open and close anymore.

Nice score. Looks really nice above the bottom. I would like to get a Star Castle and Armor Attack to go with my 2 Solar Quest cabs. Been slowly working on restoring my solar quests for over a year, and they started non working, so it's easy to work on cosmetics instead of playing. I have the boards out to cinelabs right now, hopefully after that they will work for a long time.

I pray for your star castle to keep working, cause they are a bitch when they die.

Thanks Gary, but I'm full! The Blast City just arrived today, and I'll be cleaning it up the next couple days. Gotta love cleaning up a game that's been in a Japanese smoke-cade.

I'd like to get some cool vertical shmups for it, but the cost of some of those PCB's is rediculous. I'll be plenty busy hooking up another Dreamcast to it for the time being.

I have regretted selling my Star Castle for quite a long time. It was really nice too. I found an NOS control panel for it, so no cigarette burns! Maybe someday I will find another one in nice shape...

If they are that much of a bitch, I wish someone would make an fpga version of at least the bits that aren't the analog audio. If I ever get anywhere on fpga dev, I'll add it to my list. :)

The 75 cent question is the side art intact on the other side as well? Very nice specimen you got !

This is one of those games that demands that the sound is up very loud. The constant hum and pitch changes of the shields is just great.

Some more shots. The left side is missing a bit of side art on the top. The right side is too, but not quite as bad I don't think. Overall in pretty good shape!

Gary, Nice score!! The guy you got that from has some very cool machines. He is old school, that machine was from his private collection. I have spent hours on the phone with him talking about warehouse raids. Anyway im glad you finally got your Star Castle:cool:
