I did an offer on an item on ebay, UMK3 Jamma to be exact. As I did the offer, I noticed in the title that the version was 1.1!! I f*cked up, and didnt realize, as I was excited and jumped up without reading first. I admit it was my mistake, and I should know better.

I contacted the seller, and politely explained how I did not realize the version. I skimmed through the description seen it was working, so I pulled the trigger way too quick. I explained and said I was sorry, if he could please cancel the order. He does not want to cancel the order, unless I pay him relisting fees.

Now I was pretty upset, because I understand it was my fault but he should understand as well. I would be pretty upset if someone backed out on me as well. I have never had any bad ebay experiences, and have never ordered something and not paid for it. I made a mistake and now he wants me to pay for it.

Now please dont flame me because I am not saying he is wrong or an ass, and I take responsibility for not FULLY reading first. I just wanted to share this shitty experience today. Im half tempted to just pay for the damn jamma and call it a day. I dont feel comfortable just paying him relisting fees directly to his email address.

As a seller, he can get the final value fees reversed if you both agree to cancel the transaction. The listing fees however will not be refunded. That is why sellers get angry when the buyer does not complete the transaction.

Either complete the transaction OR agree to cancel the transaction so his FVF are reversed and pay the listing fees.

Do you think its safe for me to just pay his email on paypal? Can he possibly take more money from me that way? Sorry for such a noob question but I just want to make sure. I dont want to be a douche and leave him hanging, thats not what I am on eBay for, but I made a mistake.

Also he has another umk3 jamma 1.2 but u121 rom chip is bad, he claims the game still plays fine. Do you think I should buy that one from him?

I'd contact the seller and say that it was purchased by accident. You will agree to mutually cancel the transaction and will pay the relisting fees. I'd just have them send you a PayPal invoice for the small listing fee.

No way over $5.00 because depending on options used usually it is $0.50 insertion fee, $0.30 per picture, $0.35 gallery plus fee.

Depending on price, maybe complete the transaction and just have someone burn you the updated ROMs.

If it was rev 1.2 you were looking for, and end up buying the board after all, I can burn you the 1.2 roms, or any other version you want for free. I can also erase and re-burn the U121 rom from the other board. You send me the roms, I burn you what you need. Let me know.

That would be awesome! Now How do I go about removing the rom? Is it a hard process?

He gave me his email adress and asked me to send $1 to him. I just went ahead and paid him. Its not worth the headache or bad feedback on my half.

There is no big difference between 1.1 and 1.2 so why the big fuss? Personally if I was to update I would go with the juggernaut hack.

It's because 1.2 fixed some flaws and has a few extra characters. And if am going to pay for something I at least want what I prefer. Again I do take responsibility, and I did not know I could just flash the chips.

I don't know the board off hand so I don't know if the chip is socketed or not. If the chip is socketed, you just need to pull it out. There are tools for doing this but the cheap route is to use a flathead screwdriver. Start by placing the tip of the screwdriver under the chip on one side and rotating the screwdriver. Don't rotate too much. Then do the same to the other side. Repeat the process until the chip is out.

If the chip isn't socketed, you'll have to desolder the chip from the board.

It does fix some bugs albeit minor ones. It does not add any characters though. If you want extra characters then you need the juggernaut hack.

It should be socketed, all mk3 & umk3 boards ive seen are. He needs to pull u63 & u54. They are the 2 revision roms.

I don't understand why you contacted the seller in the first place. If you submitted a best offer then you have to wait for the seller to accept it. You said you noticed right away that you'd made a mistake - so why didn't you just cancel your best offer before the seller accepted it?
