Ok, who was the guy making full game wiring for some other games?

Maybe we can get him to look into making some new PP ones. Now that would be great!

Hopefully this board will be much less of an energy hog than the original to prevent burnt connectors.

Absolutely. Power reduction in semiconductors have come a long way in 30 years. ;) Plus reducing 2 boards worth of TTL components into a single CMOS FPGA is gonna save you ridiculous power right there.

Perhaps 3 edge connectors... one classic pair that will send line level audio out, and then a Jamma with amp'd audio for new "clean conversion" systems.

Yeah not sure if jamma Makes sense here. I mean PP doesn't even have joysticks or buttons. Just some analog inputs.

I have tried to make my interest known in other threads this has come up in but I am for sure in. Just tell me when and where to send the money. :)

This is amazing and I will want at least one. Is there any plan to include the Japanese romsets (with the alternative billboards)?

Namco did not have permission to use the Marlboro cigarette logos and they got into big trouble. Phillip Morris Tobacco Company sued Namco and won for trademark infringement. Every ROM chip containing that graphic had to be removed and sent back to Atari or Namco for cataloging and destruction. The other main problem was that it was perceived as marketing cigarettes to minors which caused Phillip Morris to sue.

I had to do this to every PP we had on our route. I had to remove and swap out specific rom chips, fill out paperwork on each machine (with serial number), box up and ship back to Atari or Namco depending on boardset. And it all had to be done in a certain timeframe so Namco/Atari would not be in contempt of court.

Does anyone know if this romset exists for MAME? I'm curious to see what it looks like.

If I recall correctly (this was around 25 years ago), it was two or three ROMs that had to be swapped out per boardset.
