Off Topic: Sony 50" rear projection TV

so I am not sure how to check continuity more accurately.

I meant check from those particular pins of the convergence IC to the corresponding surface mount resistor according to the schematic.
One meter lead on the IC leg, and one meter lead on the resistor where you think you may have cut it.

It looks like it could be 5 points to me?

It looks as if those three blocks side by side are interconnected, all three go to the same pin on the Convergence IC.
(resistor--> resistor--> resistor--> with one trace down to the IC leg)

Ok, Go head and start adjusting the the picture.
Set the picture mode to FULL via the remote, see owners manual for more details.
You may be ok for now with the components.
Lets check to see if red or green won't adjust first.
That ic controls certain amps like GV RH RV during adjusting you can see if those will adjust.
If they won't adjust maybe there is a problem around the ic.
Don't touch any of the centering magnet controls, no matter what!!

Next, you will need to go to service menu page 14 to enter service mode.
Then go to page 25 for registration adj.
Confirm your in full mode,Set to coarse then adjust green vertical..first.
if it adjust then Initialize data button 7 on the remote after each complete adjustment.
and so on. If you don't want to try this then you should call a Tvman
theres alot of steps and procedures. after all you want it convergence perfectly.
They should have more experince with the fine convergence adjustment's.
Which you need good for HD channels.Good Luck!

Thanks guys. It is still doing the bowtie thing. It looks really similar to the original problem. You think that can be fixed with manual convergence? I don't want to screw the convergence up if the problem is just those traces I may have cut.
