History:I got a Ms pac cocktail in for repair, it was DOA when I got it. Mother board was bad and sent out for repair, and monitor(GO7) had deluxe kit installed. Game now works and looks fine EXCEPT there is a color change on the right side of the screen(like there is a magnet next to it). Here is where it gets weird, if I open the cabinet up (rotating monitor out of cabinet) the "hue" goes away and picture looks great. Now I know what your saying"there is something magnetic inside the right side of your cab". Well I unplugged the wiring to the controllers/lights/coin mech., removed the speaker from cabinet, unplugged cooling fan, pulled mother board out of cab and let it hang off to the side, and still had no change! Checked for any nails, staples, screws on right side that may have become magnetized with no luck. I than thought there may be a problem with the tube, so I replaced the tube with a known good tube, and problem went away for a short time(a day), but has returned. Checked transformers at bottom of cab and they test good. Game is bone stock with no mods.
Help! any ideas?

Thanks for the idea, however I thought that too. I moved it to a few different locations in the shop, and than outside to the garage(over 2 days) with no changes.
Thanks/Keep the ideas coming

I have seen this in a Ms Pac cocktail and I just had to get out my degaussing tool and after a few spins it was fixed. The problem hasn't returned in over two years.

+1 If you don't have a degaussing coil, you could try a corded drill, bulk tape eraser, or a soldering iron.

I thought of ordering one as I do not have one and my current soldering iron does not seem to effect the screen. I guess if swapping ground wires does not work, I may try a drill. I wondered if a degaussing coil would work in this situation, since "opening" the cab makes the screen clear up, but when closing-closed position the hue appears.
The customer picked up game earlier today for a party, but I am going to bring these ideas out to try and correct Sunday.
Thanks for the help/ideas

Dokert,
I'll give it a try, could you explain how moving the ground wire may correct this condition?
Thanks
Aaron

The neck board sits really close to the power supply iso, and sometimes the ground wire on the neck board in the one position creates this problem. There are two ground pin positions on the neck board 180 degrees apart.

It is part of the suitcase effect that happens in ct's.

When I went out to see what I could do, the customer said in the last day or so before I came, the monitor cleared up. I did move the ground wire on the neck board to the opposite terminal and told the customer to call if problem came back. It's been 5 days and I have not heard from him, so everything must be OK. Thanks everyone for your advise!
