Odd Galaga overlay

With the wear and cracking, I'd say it's been on there a long time - original, maybe?

But. . .

The font is different.
The START GAME graphics are different (Galagas instead of the 'people').
Galagas in front have lots of white to them.
No copyright info disclaimer.

Can't find another example online. Was thinking it was for a white Galaga but doesn't look that way.

Also, not the typical Willis layout.

Wonder if it was a proto or very early trial run.

There were overlays shipped with Gallag and Nebulous Bees boards, so possibly one of those. Definitely not original. Any signs of a conversion, inside hacked, etc.?

If's aftermarket. Early repro that either did it sloppy or aimed to avoid being too exact.

I saw these often in the 1990s, so that's probably when a run of them was made. A lot of Galagas were still on location but had horrid overlays by then, so they worked in a pinch until better ones came along.
