I'm pleased to announce a new pinball tournament, the Washington Heights Pinball Open, in Manhattan on Dec. 3&4, 2011, at Le Cheile restaurant. Qualifying rounds will be held all day Saturday, from noon to midnight, with the top 4 scores on each of 6 machines qualifying for the elimination playoffs on Sunday, starting at noon. (There will be a total of 24 qualifiers, with #5 scores moved up if someone qualifies on more than 1 machine.)

Playoffs will be an elimination format, with each round having groups of 3 or 4 players. Entries are $5/1 game or $10/3 games, with 100% of entry fees going into a prize pool for the top 8 finishers. There's also a $5 "Beat the Champ" Tournament to win a dinner for 2, with all proceeds going to a local charity. Tournament details are at:

Le Cheile is on 181st St., close to the GW bridge and just 1 block west of the 181st St A train stop (down the hill). There will be food and drink specials all weekend, and some swag for all entrants. Hope to see you there!!

Forgot to mention, there will be trophies (nice ones!) for the top 4 finishers, and the tourney is sanctioned by the IFPA, with at least 25 WPPR points to be awarded.

Minor update: we'll have at least one EM and a game that you probably have never played in a tourney before!

Final bump/update before the event. There will be an EM and a SS game among the 6 tournament machines. You only need one top-4 score on a single machine to qualify for Sunday's playoffs. The trophies for 1st-4th place are awesome! Also, during the tourney there will be $2 PBR cans and a $3 special drink made with Jarritos grapefruit soda and tequila. Plus lots of good beer on tap and great food, and plenty of space to hang out and relax.
