Did anyone at the show play the Stargate? If so where can I get the bottoms on the control panel? Mine sit up way higher and as such is much harder to play, the buttons an that Stargate where great.

Thx,

I think those are what you want. I'll be buying some in a few months.

I don't think those are them, I bought mine from Bob as well. The ones at the show were different the center of the buttons didn't sit up as high as the ones pictured, the center of the buttons where just above the outside of them. Sorry I probably aren't making sense! LOL

Yes played it, they are not the correct buttons. It has micro switch buttons in it now. The ones you have in yours are prob original leaf switch buttons they much better IMO. I asked Matt about the buttons, seems the panel might have been hacked before he got it, and now it wont take the original buttons.

Thanks for the info. The buttons on his panel play very fast. I appreciate all the work you guys did putting on the show, I had a great weekend.

I'm a fan of microswitch buttons on this game and many other classics. I know they dont "look" or "feel" right but they are more responsive and easier to press.

I'm not a collector but rather a tech so I could really care less about "factory" hardware. So long as the game works and plays and if it plays better I'm good to go.

Most of the leaf-switch button replacements you see now are not like the originals. They sit too high and the springs are much stiffer than the originals (and no, it's not just from wear... the gauge of the spring metal is clearly heavier). I pull the springs from the old banged-up buttons and use them in the new buttons. Then I put washers underneath the c-clip so that the button sits in a comfortable resting position and the action is correct. Then you need to adjust the leaf-switch blades so that they are sensitive and self-cleaning (a full press should cause the contacts to wipe a bit). A properly adjusted leaf-switch button should kick ass....

This.^^^^^^

I don't think people realize how versatile leaf buttons really are. They are a simple machine that can be set up however you like them. I agree that the repros are not like the originals, especially the white ones. You can see it in those pics.
Swap the old springs in, and add little washers above the c-clip, adjust the leafs, and you can have a "hair trigger" button that takes no force at all to activate. Lighter than any microswitch button I have ever pressed.
