Coming up on December 3rd (a Saturday) is the 2nd annual Amusement machine expo in Shelton, Washington at the Little Creek Casino. The show is being put on by Specialty Coin Products (http://coin-opgames.com/) Here is an announcement from the pages of Replay Magazine:

NW Expo Readies For Second Annual Event
(Posted October 31, 2011 -- 10:30PM)

The Second Annual Northwest Amusement Show will be held at the Little Creek Resort and Casino near Olympia, Wash., on Saturday, December 3. Doors open at 11 a.m. Edit: the casino is just outside of Shelton, Wash. on highway 101 between Shelton and Olympia.

Many manufacturers have committed to attend, including Benchmark, Namco, Skeeball, Bay Tek, Raw Thrills, Coast to Coast, Barron Games, AMI and more. Falling two weeks after IAAPA, the show floor will once again be full of the latest equipment for route operators and FEC owners and managers. A full slate of seminars will be scheduled, and complimentary food and drink will be served throughout the day. Edit: I understand Stern Pinball and Jersey Jack Pinball will be exhibiting.

The 2011 event is free to industry attendees, their families and employees, though RSVP is required in advance. Reserve prior to November 11 to receive a $100 equipment coupon and $50 parts coupon at the door. Contact show coordinators, Chelann and Faye, at 800/987-4946 or via email, [email protected] or [email protected].

Special room rates are available at Little Creek (www.little-creek.com) and must be booked by November 11. Call 800/667-7711 to reserve rooms and mention the Northwest Amusement Show or Specialty Coin Products for the special rate.

Edit: You might even see me there!

I think that may be about the time I'm there.

If anyone is thinking of driving through Olympia that day, be advised that is the day of the huge motorcycle "Toy Run" through town. The major streets will be blocked between 12:30 PM and 2:00PM. Last year had 17,000 motorcycles participating! So avoid Olympia and stay on the freeway to Shelton.

Will they stay in the city? We will be coming from the Bremerton area, so we'll take 3 to 101.

I just got back from the show. I saw Ken and Steve there but I didn't talk to them. I also saw everyone's (Seattle area anyway) favorite Space Age Amusements owner, Marc.

As I expected it was virtually all redemption machines. There were a few vids but nothing I haven't seen in arcade for a few years now. The only thing I think memebers of this board would be interested in was the Frogger Redemption machine.

http://www.segaarcade.com/frogger

It was sort of cool, You don't control Frogger, you just tell him when to start crossing the road and river. There are a bunch of other bugs you pick up along the way, all adding to your ticket tally, and if you make it all of the way across you win bonus tickets.

Overall, it was not a bad game but it is only loosely tied to the Frogger in many of our basements.

There was a 4 player square shaped air hockey table there that was a blast to play. I got to play a genuine Skeeball machine that was there on display too.

There was a company that had a standup 4 player Pacman machine that played on a 42" flat screen monitor that absolutely sucked.

I talked for a long time with the Coinco people about their new bill acceptor models. They look superior to MARS bill acceptors and at half the price.

I let the Raw Thrills guys have a piece of my mind about those crappy computers in the F&F Tokyo Drift games.

We got there right at opening time of 11:00 am and left around 4:00pm. I had a good time and saw some friends there.

Ken, it was great seeing you there yesterday. Slippery Fish must have left pretty early, as I did not notice him later on.
Yes, that Barron Quad air hockey kicks ass!
