Zero - Haven't sold a game yet - worked to hard to get them, plus I'm still a noob at this

I had to sell my first arcades... Donkey kong jr. Tutankam, and dig dug. Because I had to make room for pinball. sold earthshaker, Dr.Who and Funhouse, cuz i had to make room for other pinballs.. after restoring the Lazerball and Playball I have those will be traded/sold as well until I get the 7 most kick ass pinball machines ever to touch the earth. (i only have room for 7 in my personal gameroom)

I must have voted a long time ago. This is a hobby and I like fixing them more than playing them plus I have a hard time saying no when I see something cheap. When that happens, something has to go. I like looking at my machines and having the yearly party. Owning or hoarding machines that I do not have the chance to play or show off is not appealing to me, so extras must be sold.

So far, I have sold five machines and have lost money on only one of them.

I used to keep track on a spreadsheet but lost count on the videogame side. Games sold/traded: videogames approx 50, pinball machines 181.

Only sold 2. An original Space Invaders and a Pacman upright. Knowing what I know now...I would have made the room for them and never sold them. That was about 15 years ago.

The curves in the POLL tell interesting STATs.
Either you've had/sold many games or hardly none at all.
Fascinating. :)

I'm odd-man-out, as I'm in the middle. LOL

i think ive sold 5. a dual monitor playchoice when i found a single monitor version, then sold the single monitor version when i found a countertop. two rush the rock alcatraz's when i found two rush 2049's. and a neo-geo.

Just sold like 7 games, first time I've ever sold a game at all though. Ran out of space to even move the games I do play around to fix them or to play with multiple players, and some were projects I just had no time or $$$ to fix... and planning a move next year so...

The fact I want a 2 player dance cab and am getting a free project pinball just added to the need to move some out. LOL

I thought it would be bittersweet but it feels amazing to actually have room to play everything and to get more games when good deals come up. Very freeing!

I truly regret selling every game I have sold Except my 60 in 1. 7 sold.
I wish I had my 60 in 1 back. I miss it, and sold it in March.

As far as games I've gotten rid of, I'd say at least 50. That number being between sales and trading, with me giving away 2.

ah 15+ year necro revived! at least the poll here works, interesting that it publicly shows all the users who voted for what choice, no anonymity for polls eh? heck ya!

also - @mclemore - isn't the forum capable of cutting off a time limit to allow posts to be necro'd say cut it of at 5 years? or 10 years? or 15?

I don't refer to former family members as "a number." Their names are:

1. Zaxxon
2. Kung Fu Master
3. Kicker
4. Rolling Thunder
5. Track & FIeld
6. vs. Goonies
7. Elevator Action
8. Ghosts 'n' Goblins
9. vs. Duck Hunt
10. Gun Force

Lots of sellers and flippers, apparently. I've only sold, I think, 4 games and that was when I was out of a job. I've spent years trying to get them back.

I see that I orginally responded to this thread in 2017.....interesting...🤔 then it was 2 games sold and how I regreted selling them back in and around the early 2000s. Since 2017 I have acquired the two games that I regrettably let go. Last year I bought an original Galaga upright to replace my not quite original Galaga that was in a Pacman cabinet. I now have all the hardware along with the correct cabinet to start my Pacman restoration project. I then located an original non-working but complete Bally Midway Space Invaders. It needs board work but everything is there, including the original working monitor. So now as of August 2020, I have sold 2 and replaced those 20 years later. Go figure! 😁
