Hi all just yesterday picked up Gauntlet Dark Legacy in the showcase cabinet. I bought it off a KLOV member that recapped the game and got it working and then this happend:

When I repaired it it worked fine for 6 months and the C426 cap blew again and Ultra fast diode D404 was shorted. I replaced them again it worked fine for about 4 hours and they went again. At that point I was told to use a higher rated Ultra Fast recovery diode. I tried that the machine came up fine for about 5 minutes and the screen lost the red and green colors. I pushed it back and never looked at it again. It now plays but the picture just has blue.

Is there something I could look for myself. I'm not to technical savy but I work for an electronics company and I have guys that might be able to solve the problem. So as it stands I have a sorta "blue screen of death" Any direction would be great, Thanks.

never touched any Neotech stuff myself, I don't carry that kind of extensive knowledge anyway, but if you ever have issues regarding color channels it's typically caused by the color drive transistors on the neckboard going bad or it's the color guns in the tube are shot.

first thing you should check is when the colors go out: does it only do it when the monitor's warmed up? like if you were to turn it off for about 20 minutes and turn it back on, would you have all RGB? I read something like that on here once before about a monitor where the tube was going bad, if you lose colors when it warms up, that is.

I think before anything though you should find out why that cap keeps popping and the diode keeps shorting. that sounds like something entirely crazier. lol

good luck, I hope someone with Neo knowledge comes by to help.
