Hi all! I have been trying to adjust our NSM The Performer Classic ES V CDM 4 so it will play CDs smoothly. I have been getting error 73 so I used command P157 to try and adjust and get the grabbing ok. I also adjusted the CD Holder to work smoothly. However, the most recent test ended up grabbing a CD and now it won't drop the CD and I can't seem to get P157 to do any adjustments or let it go. I tried un plugging the machine and different combinations of on/off and program. To me it seems like the tray is not in the right position and isn't going to the bottom at the correct height so it is off by a mm per so. I keep reading about some optical stops OPSTP or OPPUM but the manuals make no sense.

I have a video showing the issue.
Any advice on how to get P157 H 0 working again?
Any advice on how to adjust the optics / disk grabber?

I am looking at one right now with a very similar problem. I have ordered a stepper motor, as I believe that may be the problem. On mine, it would go and get a CD, then lower it, but not quite low enough, causing the CD to flop around when spinning.

The tray hesitates right away when it's supposed to be rising, gives error 73 immediately, but then sometimes does go get a CD, but it's jittery.
In 157, I do have control, but it's not moving normally. It's jittery. In your video, you're hitting 0 to return to the bottom, but have you tried 2 to raise, 8 to lower..perhaps give it a little nudge with your hand..see if it will get moving.

I originally thought mayyybe adjusting the height of the tray would help (remove the CD cartridges, remove two Philips screws inside, left and right of CD player, carefully unplug wiring harnesses from the rear, remove entire mechanism from jukebox, remove back cover - the part with the mirror). Then I also tried raising the CD player with washers, knowing it was probably not going to work. Neither physical adjustment helped. These are most likely NOT your problem.

Also, the shaft needs to be cleaned, then a tiny amount of plastic safe lubricant applied. I did that on mine. The movement should be nice as smooth, but it seems it's the motor itself that is causing the problem. You will need to remove the whole mechanism as described above to really get in there.
