I just picked up an NSM City II and the carriage picks up the record and attempts to play it, but it appears that the spring that pulls up the motor is failing because it does not pull the motor to the wheel to spin the record. It I push up the motor and threcord will play.

I am not sure if replacing the spring will fix the issue. Is there something else that could be causing the motor to not engage the wheel?

Also, the audio does not feel as full and rich as I remember fro
jukes could it just need new needles or should I upgrade the speakers to get the best sound?

The glass on the front of the City II is broken is ther anyone who sell replacement glass or plexi for the front??

Well, I fixed the issue with the record not playing once it was loaded into the carriage. It pulled the spring and squished it down and then reinstalled it and that fixed the issue. After that was done another issue cropped up. The carriage decided not to see the end of the rail it is attached to and would click forever. I pulled the cage off of the cherry switches and noticed a loose wire which I soldered on, which seemed to fix the problem temporarily. I believe the switch must be going bad because it will work for a little bit then stop working. It will play the first song I select if it is in the 100s, but it fails to play any additional song added to the queue.

I am going to replace the switches today hopefully if the local electronics store carries this size in stock. If that fixes the issue then all I will need to do is replace the glass on the front with a replacement and it will be good to go.

How's it coming along? Too bad your wife likes the other one better, can't say I blame her. A touch screen, custom built, can't go wrong. Hopefully you can make some $$$ off it though. :)

I replaced 2 cherry switches on the carriage yesterday and it works like a charm now. We are going to replace the decorative poster paper in there with something a little different. My parents have a bunch of really old 45s that I loaded in it for testing. My Mom came over last night and spent the night dancing in the garage by herself listening to the old tunes. After seeing that I am going to give them the Juke. I am contacting a local glass company to see if they can custom build a replacement glass for the front out of plexi. I also replaced all of the lights in the front display and its looking and playing great!

The larger juke that we picked up (NSM 240-I) is still having issues. I need to purchase a service manual for it. I replaced the blown cap that was in it, but it didn't light up first light on the board. Once I get the manual for that though it shouldn't been too hard to fix.

John from Jukeboxparts.com has a few NSM 240-I jukes he is parting out, so I should be able to get whatever replacement parts I need from him.

That it too precious!

If I come across one I will let you know. I still have lots of parts, manuals, etc. in the back room.

Oh good. Keep us updated. If you know anyone else I have more I need to get rid of.
