I guess I've never quite gotten the hang of using Novus properly.

I see the raves about it but when I use it, I typically see very slight, if any change.

I've got bottles of 1, 2 and 3 as well as some microfiber cloths. I follow the directions. Still. . . meh.

Tips from Novus gurus appreciated before I try using it on a bezel with some mild/moderate scratching.

It takes forever, doesn't happen right away. I've had great success with it on a variety of things.

Currently I've been doing my Asteroids Bezel which had major carvings done to it, including a full name and random lines that went pretty deep. Using #3 with a 1000 grit paper on a variable orbiting sander, I spend about an hour each session slowly grinding away at it, constantly keeping enough of the Novus on there.

When I'm finally done with that session, I hit it with #1 to deal with all the minor stuff and make it clear/useable.

It's made a huge improvement so far, most of the crap is gone (such as the name) or very faint at this point. I probably have another 2 maybe 3 hours to go to get it perfect.

Depending on the depth of the scratches , begin with 600 , 800 , or 1000 grit wet/dry sand paper - keep wet ! Very wet ! Pour water on it constantly . You do not want to melt and smear the plastic , you want to sand it . Once the scratches are gone , use successively finer grits . When there are no scratches other than the sandpaper - move to a finer grit . Somewhere after 1200-2000 grit ( whatever you're comfortable with ) move to novus 3 . It's time consuming but you'll get great results . Just remember - it's a polishing compound ( has abrasives ) which means you're basically micro-sanding with it - it takes elbow grease to make it work .
