I had just read on Pinball Resource's web-site that they dont recommend Novus 2 for cleaning playfields that are Pre-1989. Well that sucks as I have a HS from 1986, so novus wont clean my playfield, any truth to this huh? I would like to ditch this Wildcat S**T that came with the machine. Which cleaner please, tell me so I can order/go buy! Thanks Jeff

Ding, ding, ding you win Rainbo! Thats exactly what PR website said NOT to use Novus #2 NO diamond plate. So please tell me then What cleaner to use? If I was going to use Novus #2 would it destroy my playfield? See I almost ordered this Novus #2 today infact and then I just read this and could not believe it, see I been reading here on this forum that Novus #2 is the BEST, well not for all machines huh? Let me know.

Uh, Novus 2 is excellent for ALL playfields, going back all the way to EM games. I have used it on games from the early '70s up to games that are less than a couple of years old.

Novus 2 is abrasive enough to clean well, but it's not so abrasive that it will harm non-Diamond Plate games. Just don't use Novus 3 on them.

Thank you jar155, So on my High-Speed playfield not diamond plated Novus 1 and 2 but dont use novus #3, correct? I will follow up with Meguires Caranuba wax, as I use this now, but the Wildcat stuff dont clean all that good.

Yeah, you're good with Novus 2. Just remember, multiple cleanings with moderate pressure is better than a single cleaning where you scrub. Work it in, but don't scrub it. You basically will use it like you use car wax. Put a drop or two every few inches and clean with a circular motion. In fact, I'm going to upload a video later tonight of how to clean and wax a playfield and it's basically just what I said.

Lindsey will probably chime in, but I'm sure he's used quite a bit of Novus 2 in his days on everything from EMs to modern stuff.

Yup... I've used Novus on games from the 50's to 90's and everything in between. It's all I'll use for that cleaning stage. No millwax, no wildcat, no bullshit, just Novus #2.

I can't imagine what you would use if Novus is too abrasive. I've used a couple gallons of the stuff :p

Same here. I use Novus #2 exclusively on all pinball playfields regardless of the machine's age.

Yea, I call BS on that one too.

Been using Novus #2 for years on all machines. Works nicely for cleaning.

Avoid Millwax and Wildcat - that stuff is garbage.

If you need some Novus # 2 right away, go to your local Harley-Davidson motorcycle shop. They always have it in stock.
